In 2016 many voters wavered between Sanders and Trump, seeing both as anti-establishment, which Sanders was and Trump wasn't. Offer the voters that choice for real and you can't lose.

You are looking at the party's transformation in entirely the wrong way. It used to be the party of the working class, and now it is the party of the upper middle. That is why they lose, and that is why they no longer accomplish much worthwhile when they win. None of the things YOU are describing are bad for the country and some are nonexistent.

The PEOPLE want something to left of the Democrats in their present formation. Not a deliberate lean to left or right, but to their constituents. That is a simpler strategy, but it's also more work. However, there are candidates who can't do that work. They need to be told which way to lean. If both nominees have that condition, then that would be a standard boring race with party hacks and party slogans.

This is what matters most. The slogan should be "The 80% vs. The 20%," to emphasize that the real class enemy here, the class that ALWAYS gets its collective way no matter what, and whose interests the Dems resolve to serve no more, is the upper middle.

Migrants, legal or not are not taking over the country. That's simply not happening. There are no unborn children but yes we are pro choice and yes that is a good thing for a society. Pro-life is not good particularly not when divorced from giving people free stuff. Even if you want to believe "They made a mistake. There is no voter fraud worthy of serious discussion. Does it happen? Of course it does. All the things happen but we're supposed to be talking about things that happen in large numbers not something that happened that one time. I think Heritage foundation found a few hundred over the last decade or more. I'm not going to bring it up someone else has it on their favorites tab but the number was SO low that if Heritage can't fudge the numbers to get it higher than that the number doesn't exist.

Its not even three months into 2026 so I'm not sure how the bloom could be of Momdani when his policies can't possibly have had any measurable effects yet. I admit I have not followed that on any day to day I'm mildly shocked nobody is posting on how New York is on fire.

Restoring a woman's right to choose is a very popular position, no matter how much you hate it. Regrettably, transphobia does sell - but again, mostly to people who already weren't going to vote blue.
