What The Hell Is WRONG With You People?

When I first started lurking here I thought it was a fun place to be. Yeah there were a few fights that got going but isn't that everywhere and in real life too?

Then I saw another board member whose name I can't remember get personal information posted about them and get harrassed for even typing "hello". I didn't think too much about it and figured the person must have done something god awful. People do that sometimes too.

Now Lil-Brandi gets picked on every time SHE posts too. I can't say I'm her biggest fan either but I at least have the sense to ignore the people I don't care too much for. Not everyone is going to like everyone but some of us can live and let live.

What I would like to know where is the CONTROL on this board? Someone shouldn't step in every time a few people don't get along but when all that's happening to someone is they're getting harrassed all the time nothing gets done either. At least not from what I've seen. There's more moderators on these boards than I've ever seen anywhere else but no one steps in. Proof positive that anarchy doesn't work.

Iris, you cant have someone "step in" everytime you disagree with someones post. A few trolls running loose on the boards is not a crisis. Lil Brandi knows we love her or she wouldnt still be here. Once in awhile we all get slammed, but then the greater majority always comes in.

So, there isnt a damned thing wrong with us. We're just a group of funloving,addicted people

Nothing is wrong with us, Iris. If you notice, Brandi has many defenders. Anyone who attacks is usually surrounded and, if not annihilated, receives a solid pecking.

Unfortunately, it's a kind of "survival of the fittest" exercise. Being ultra-sensitive is not good; one must grow a skin. It's a public forum, after all. Not everything we say is going to win points from everyone. If that bothers us deeply, we are certainly in the wrong place.

This really is a great place, Iris. Give it more of a chance.

The person picking on Brandi is called a troll. They are too chicken shit to post under their own name and have people dislike them the way they seem to dislike her.

Ignore them that is all they deserve.

As for the moderators, yes we have several on this site. If you look at the main board you will see that there are none for the general boaed, they can only moderate on the boards they are assigned.

After all it's all cyber, you put your real self out there, or a fantasy, either way nothing can hurt you because it's only induced reaction, not actual. Teh board is RL in its make up, there are no controls by design. THe moment you start censoring it or it's members (yes that includes the trolls) you lose the very freedoms that make it such a wonderful place.

Lurk a little longer, get to know the personas here, there is much love, much support. Even the member harrangers and harrasers are respected. The others soon pass anyway.

My therapist told me I have a problem with authority. That explains why I love this anarchist site! Seriously, I think the honest reactions from people are priceless, and I'd hate to see these boards "controlled".

That's for sure...For a board with so few rules, it's surprisingly civil - and the credit for that goes to the members who hold high standards for conduct. Yep, there's trolls, cat fights, dog fights, and even chicken fights (notice I didn't say cock fights), but I think everyone here is adult enough to realize that these are only words, they won't break our bones, and that it's all entertainment after all.

Iris, if a member comes to me with a problem with another member, I evaluate the situation and act accordingly. If a serious threat of physical harm is made, or if the message contains illegal material, then I generally edit or remove it. If it's a case of a personality clash or one party making faces at the other party, I tend to let it go but keep a close eye on the situation. If one member repeatedly goes after another member without cause, then I may email the one member and ask them politely to stop. If that doesn't work, a whole chain of events goes into play. I don't know what those events are, because I haven't yet had to go that far. If it's just two people fighting, then I respect the fact that they are adults & let them work it out themselves.

Trolls are a whole nuther ball of wax. If they do make physical threats of violence or harm against a member, we can track their IP and get them in deep doo doo. Otherwise, if they're just being rude, I ignore them. Fighting with them only gives them the attention they crave.

TIME FOR MY TWO CENTS

I've been coming to Literotica probably longer than most of you. But I very seldom ever say much. Mainly because my spelling sucks, But anyways. I look forward to logging in every day to see how everyone is doing and whats new.
I've seen people come and go, I've seen people pass away and I've shared in the joy of other members having kids or grand kids. I've felt the sorrow of others personal problems that I could never dream of dealing with!

There are so many wonderful people here that care so much for the other members of this board. "The good of the many far out wiegh the shit of the few".
I'm sure many of the people on this board know more about most of the people on this board than they do there own family.
Iris the only problem is that most of the guys dont give a shit about what anyone says to them.
But unfortunatly many of the wonderfull ladies here take comments to heart.
This is family here and if some close flames you it hurts.
Most times it works out and life goes on.
As for the Trolls, hell never mind the trolls there not worth the time.
Once again I love coming here to check up on everyone and I thank you all for letting me into your lives. "and bedrooms"

Anyways thats my two cents.

I didn't say somebody should step in every time 2 or a few people have a fight. It's just that sometimes I see kind of a mob mentality here - and on other boards too - that one person fuels the fire and everyone else jumps in whether or not they even know if they hate the person being picked on. Usually though when it gets to that point somebody does step in for the benefit of the other members who aren't involved in it.

No Ambro I don't feel picked on because I'm really not around here enough to pick on in the first place. LOL Even if somebody did get on my case I wouldn't let it bother me pesonally unless it started ending up in every single thread like this Brandi stuff is starting to.

Just my opinion I guess. Like I said it doesn't really matter to me specifically it's just getting old. I don't plan on coming here more or less because of it but it's not the first time I've seen it here is all.
