what was your dream from last night?

Dream

My dream last night was scary. In my dream, I was on an airplane with my sister and my niece. There was some malfunction and we started to descend. The pilot (who was the actor Don Cheadle) had to land the airplane on a highway. Once we landed, everyone was getting out of the airplane. I went to get out but I had five bags with me. I kept trying to gather all of the bags. By the time I tried to get out of the airplane, the flight attendant had closed the door. The pilot was crying about how his career was over and he might as well die. I was scared. He drove the airplane over the highway and into the ocean. I was able to escape from the top of the airplane. As soon as I escaped, water got into the airplane. Creepy!

Oddly enough, the only thing that I am able to remember from my dream last night was that I won a lifeline supply of Bath & Body Works products. Usually, I have long, vivid dreams.

I'm noticing how often your dreams feature water, holiday destinations, and celebrities :) One good thing is that the water you talk about isn't horrible, even if it sometimes has scary things (sharks, elon musk, a crashing aircraft) in it... the water itself isn't dirty or polluted, no human waste floating in it, so you seem pretty good to go :rose:

can't remember all the complexities of last night's dreamings since I've been up and it's faded, but my middle kid was in it aged about 7 and he was bleeding from some kind of claw wounds on his left ribs-to-belly area and was trying to protect a kitten he'd found. It was a fab cat, thick, glossy hair and a bright NAVY BLUE!

Mine was a weird one, I had a dream I was looking for something on a boat in the ocean. No idea what that means!

I had a nightmare about being in Venice and there were sharks attacking people. The structure of Venice was crumbling and people were falling into the canals. The sharks were sure happy! Luckily, my niece and I were airlifted out by Jennifer Lopez.

Dream

My dream last night started with me swimming in a lake with some people from my childhood. The lake had no shore line and only a long, wobbly dock. I was trying to swim to the dock. We then were crossing a bridge over the lake. We were in formal outfits and we were going to a wedding. I don’t know whose wedding it was. We were in the parking lot saying goodbye to each other. I couldn’t find my car. I walked to a local college. I asked the students on campus which college it was. I saw a sign that said Manhattanville (college). A student offered to help me look for my car. It was getting dark so he brought a flashlight. We still couldn’t find my car. We kissed in the parking lot, and then I asked him if his dorm had a second bed. He said yes and we walked back to his dorm room. I laid down in the spare bed. Max and Connor showed up at the dorm room and were mad I stayed there. My mom and dad drove me, Max, and Connor home.

the dream was long and convoluted, during an afternoon nap, but the bit I remember the clearest was this:

my real-life husband had "written" a poem and it was beautiful. Now, he does write some beautiful poetry in real-life but the reason I used airquotes in this case because it was a poem made from a dried stem of some shrub/treeish plant. The stem formed the main body but the meaning of the "lines", the metaphors and what have yous where about how he'd placed the branchlets... by bending some of them in various directions and positions, the lengths and angles, the interactions where "lines" crossed, well that was what made the poem.

Now this poem was sitting outdoors in a black plastic barrel, and some different people had seen it and were telling me about the poem. Each person had a different take on it, even more than might be considered normal in poetry evaluation. I went to look again and saw the barrel had blown over in the wind and it was as I was standing it—and the poem—back up that I realised these different people must have "read" the poem where wind had blown the branchlets about, rendering different meanings, before the whole thing had gone over.

The rest of the dream is now too mixed up but I know the bit about the poem was followed by some people telling me I'd given H a(words forgotten but meaning some sort of sweet treat) smile for gving not one but two impromptu speeches (short) at some union thing where I'd persuaded workers to vote not to allow some toxic dye in a fizzy drink.
