Kirk was just another asshole with an axe to grind and a megaphone. His beliefs and opinions, sincerely held or not, were a bit like an amateur comedy routine - well-rehearsed and polished, but superficial. When he engaged with well-informed interlocutors (a rarity), he foundered.

He was smart enough to recognize this, which is one reason he preferred college audiences. College students are smart, but also tend to be less prepared (coursework is demanding) and more receptive. Kirk wanted to mobilize young people so as to build a sustainable conservative power base. As such, he didn't need to be right. He needed to persuade. Just like any other garden variety demagogue.

So what would he say about MAGA vs. 2A? Whatever seemed most expedient and on-brand. He'd probably stick with 2A advocacy (on brand) while propping up the narrative Trump liked (expedient). Nothing too strenuous. If asked direct questions, he'd likely deflect, offering some red herring about immigration or confronting liberal violence. You know, bullshit.

You can't, for example, take your steel peener substitute on an airplane, into a courtroom, withing shooting distance of the President of the United States, and most recently, into a room with an active MRI machine (did you see what recently happened to the stoopid ICE agent who insisted on bringing his Glock into a room where an evildoer was getting an MRI for an ICE-induced head injury?....the Glock literally flew out of the agent's holster across the room and embedded itself into the side of the MRI machine).

For the same reason you do not " carry" on the plane, school, city hall or a court, you should not " carry" at a riot ! Just a common sense should tell you that.

I was once swept up in a mass arrest at a peaceful protest that the cops suddenly declared to be a riot. Their excuse for declaring the riot: someone lit an effigy of George Bush on fire. Suddenly the cops had legal justification to use deadly force against men women and children, citing arson by one person as proof that the otherwise peaceful protest was a violent riot. A year later in court everyone showed up and charges were dropped. The ‘arsonist’ named in the police reports was a fictitious person, suspected to be a government plant - a COINTELPRO actor.

Try to think clearly for just a moment. If you ever carry a gun and you happen get in the vicinity of a police action you can suddenly be legally arrested, possibly by adrenaline jacked masked government thugs, just like Alex Pretti.

Think a little harder now, maybe even check some of the current videos of people buying gear from Amazon and dressing up as ICE agents. Since federal agents aren’t required to identify themselves anyone can pose as one.
