Nope. I talked to no one other than the nice men who helped me and the paramedics, (they might have been cute but I wasn't seeing too straight), by standers I knew in the damn community, my kids and, when he got home from work, my husband.

I don't have a regular doc other than the dentist and my ENT. Everyone now and then if I get really scared about a "woman" problem I see my gyno. I think the last time was something like six years since the time before that. They'd thrown my records away or some such.

I don't really trust docs you see. They charge and hurt you in bad ways but they don't usually fix a damn thing unless it's very straight forward.

I'm a bad girl in this area. A very, very bad, girl and I don't care who knows it. I might even call my mom today.

LOL.

You're a bad girl, yet you're an adult, so I am going to butt out .

After I say the following.......

Please ring your Mom at least for now. The Community will be fine, your daughter was amazing, you knew that already though : smiles : You might want to consider getting this looked into with the kidlets in mind, I HATE Doctors too, it's usually my consideration to the manchild that forces my hand in recent years to contend.

You need to see a doctor.

This is not food poisoning.

I'm not kidding.

DO IT. and I MEAN IT.

I beg to differ. After throwing up I felt much better and was able to get up, clean up as well as I could, walk out, talk to some more concerned folks in the community and drive home.

Now, if vomited hadn't relieved most of the biggest problems, I'd say you are right.

So here is what I'm going to do. I'm talking it easy today and being something of a bratty attention whore. This week I'll try to do my normal thing while getting ready for a trip.

At the end of my trip which I've planned for well over a year, if there have been any other incidents, I will contact a doctor and get a cat scan.

That's my plan.

:rose:

Working in hospitals for the past 20 some years I will only go to the ER if I absolutely have to. I drove myself to one when I had chest pains, then decided against it and went home. The next morning I was feeling nauseous so went back. I'm really glad I did. No heart attack but I did have pneumonia.

FF--You need to be seen by someone, today! Passing out multiple times and feeling nauseous is not good. You need to be checked out. Go to the ER now while the football games are still on, they will be less crowded.

Hey I now have company in the: Are you fucking kidding me? They'll never take me! Votes!

Yay!

You see, my Mom is trouble but it could help her look outside her own fucked up world. I'm just not sure I want her focusing on me though.

So you are saying that you think going to the doc is the wisest, longer life course right? That's why the consideration for the kids?

Yes, I am an adult. You are very right.

*hug*

You do understand that neurological problems can and usually do cause nausea and vomiting?

But like rebecca said... you're an adult and i have no business telling you what to do.

I apologize.

Please, never apologize to me over something like this. I totally understand where you are coming from.

And yes, I knew that already and that is why I thought of neurological problems right off. A concussion would explain things nicely. That's why I was afraid to sleep much. The only problem is, I know I didn't hit my head during my first two falls on Friday and Saturday and I wasn't nauseated then. Now on subsequent falls that I don't really remember, a concussion is possible but that doesn't explain the first two falls. They may just be because I'm clumsy but I usually catch myself and don't fall down but rather into walls, furniture.

I'll die at home with my friend the Midwife, since she's the most medically knowledgeable person I know - No health insurance, baby! I can't afford a $900 ambulance ride...

Duly noted. Thanks for caring.

My goal in life is to never see my coworkers in a professional setting. I have a saying, "If it is still attached, not spurting, and I'm still conscious and breathing...don't call the ambulance!" I see way too much ambulance abuse.

I am in the Miss Rebecca and ADR camp.

Get yourself to the doctor, and I make no apology for telling you what to do.

I am not a switch, but DAMN I can be assertive!

Yay for you!

You know I agree with you!

Man the first time I read that, I thought it said, I am a switch. I did a double take!

I'm off to eat. (It's an experiment of sorts.) I'm going to relax and watch the last of Big Love Season two.

Thanks for caring.

Sorry for being a bratty attention whore.

So you know more about this than just slipping her a tongue???

And you've never told me? But you tell the whole board?

Sheeeesh...

If the crown fits ......

We all know about your bedside manner Miss Rose.

You didn't take out Miss MostLikelyToSlipYouTheTongue 2007 for nothing.

What she said. Listen to the nurse!

As for your poll: the only ambulance ride I've ever had came with a truly nasty broken shoulder. Broken bones alone aren't enough as I've walked to the hospital with a broken wrist.

i dont go to the hospital for nothing, but unfortunatly ive been there quite a bit.

i was quite the klutz growing up. and dancing through most of it didnt help.

hospital stuff
~ive broken each wrist/ arm multiple times
~ive had three cuncussions
~i tore a ligiment in my foot
~passing out multiple times
~extreme migrianes, usually resulting in more passing out
~broke my collarbone and ribs
~more sprained ankles then i remember, mostly from dancing

ambulence stuff
~passing out in front of collage authorities while underage.. i didnt have much of a choice in that one
~my father, an EMT, thought i broke my leg. turned out to be a really nasty sprain

usually sombody will just drive to the hospital if somethign is bad enough that i needed it

and, knock on wood, i havnt broken anything since middle school

AND passing out isnt "normal". ive done it for one reason or another since i was young. please please please take care of yourself.

OTOH, I am sure I would be in a different place if I'd been through what you have.

:rose:

Heh, I wasn't in that place though till I did have what I had.

It would not take much now.

What it did take?

Almost passing out on the toilet with my husband right there (I described it as shitting glass shards) and a fever of 102, AND my bull telling me I was fucking nuts if I didn't go in. I got in, they told me I had appendicitis, but it was tangential to obvious Crohn's. The GI looked at me and said "my patients would have been begging for admission when you went to urgent care two days ago."

Apparently I'm tough. And dumb. I probably would have ruptured it if no one had gotten insistent.

Please do consider getting yourself checked out - M had some really REALLY strange neurological stuff and they found it was migraines - migraines that do not have a pain symptom, some people get them. You could well be fine - I'm just a "know WHY" person I guess. Among being queasy and vision problems, he was unable to remember the meanings of very basic words and would look at me and ask me "what does that word mean, nauseous?" That clinched it for me, we were going in.

I wasn't insured when I was diagnosed and I had to wait 18 mos or whatever it is before my disease was not considered "pre-existing" when you are entertaining toxic megacolon as a possible outcome, you just go.

Broke you can fix. Debt you can pay.

Do not let fear of debt keep you from accessing what you need. They WILL treat you, you will just owe money. Money you may never pay off, but MD's generally WANT you to have access hospitals have non-profit funds and patient assistence funds, there are non-profits set up to help people. No one *has* to die in the street. Public hospitals are not pleasant, but I've entertained myself in them at times when I've had to.

(and the hospitals have insurers that pay them if you REALLY can't pay, too)
