I chuckling reading this, and remembered seeing this "real Italian treat" :

Scary thing is that, in college, I brought home some fellow Computer Science majors to do some coding and having lunch while the school's main frame was under a quick - 4 hour - repair. I had leftover spaghetti in the fridge, along with meatballs and sausage.
One of my fellow nerds asked if I had ketchup and hot dogs in my pasta, since that's what his mother taught him what "real" Italians had. Needless to say, I had to teach him what the owners of the restaurant where I was working would say to him if they heard him. I also converted him to "Baked Leftover Spaghetti with Meatball and Sausage Pieces" - cut up the meat, mix in the spaghetti and through mozzarella on top.
*makes a calendar for which days of the week I can show up uninvited to RJ's house for dinner*![]()
good grief, ketchup? *shudders*
Ketchup!
You sound like my son's college friends, who like to show up around 4, 5 pm and see what's for dinner, and seeing that I'm making meatballs, will go to the supermarket and come back with more garlic bread, sausage meat, bread crumbs if I need it, mozzarella and ricotta....

geez Louise, you are killing me here! *wipes drool* and yes, I would love to go to the store for you so I could have a night where I didn't have to be the one cooking.
I guess I should say what I am having for dinner since I haven't done that yet and it's the thread subject.I think we are going out for Chinese tonight.
