I had hoped to do some nice chicken thighs on the grill in a garlic/lemon citronette but, the weather does not want to cooperate so, I'll do it inside with some home fries, salad and cherry tomato salad.

I also just threw together a cinnamon bread pudding for dessert with some leftover bread and poind cake. I'll make the sauce a la minute.

Now, what to drink? I'n thinking a nice Alsatian Pinot Gris. Down to the cellar, I go.

Does eating dinner for breakfast count? Shrimp and crab stuffed prawns with hollandaise, asparagus and salad.

Cinnamon bread pudding was outstanding. I made an almond custard sauce to serve with it.

I am LOVING bread pudding lately as I have been making it with bread, preferably brioche, challah or croissants AND some sort of cake. I buy day old pound cake or babka or donuts and just break them up and mix with the bread. The cakes take on an increadle creaminess, almost becoming a part of the custard. Really good and so damned simple.

Rice with garlic, butter and romano cheese
Pan seared rare filet mignon
Cabernet mushroom gravy

Dinner at friends tonight. Promise of steaks and baked potatoes with much Bordeaux. We are bringing crostini for starters; goat cheese with dried cherries and pignoli; roasted corn, prosciutto and parmagianno; and kalamata olive and anchovy all on grilled sourdough.

Just finished lunch. Crabcakes over a simple salad of romaine and red cabbage tossed in a raspberry pecan vinaigrette.
