Is Kazaalite like Kazaa with lots of spyware?

I use iTunes. I love it. It may cost $0.99 a song, but you are guaranteed a good quality song and the whole song.

If you're only wanting a few songs, it's worth it. I've know I've spent probably upwards of $200 so far, but that's after a year and half of using it.

I think so, I got the link from someone but after a couple of hours of playing around, I ended up with 3 songs..2 incomplete and one with really bad static.

So, I'm still searching. I have no problem paying a "monthly fee" as long it's not exorbitant.

I use Limewire, and it's worked very well without all of the adware and spyware usually associated with these P2P.

p2P

Wizard,

Great post.. I didnt think there were any free P2P programs out there.

I used to use Kazaa and at first it was just ok then went downhill. Sometimes I'd get lucky and I would be able to get the song I was looking for on the first try BUT 80% of the time I only got part of the song. It seemed like they size of the file was 3 meg but all I got was the chorus.

I will save this thread and see what program is getting most of the votes..

Hey, worst case scenerio: we can create our own swapping of music. That might be a good idea but it will take a bit longer..

Try to uninstall it. That is when I discovered all the little things that came w/Limewire.

WinMX may have things attached to it as well, I will find out when I uninstall and reinstall it.

That's irritating! I've had the partial-song- in-big-file problem once or twice, but I generally have really great results with Limewire (Basic/Free, not the Pro version).

Intresting............I just want to download it on an older computer for a few days then get rid of it off the system again.....

I need to look for a few things.....

I used to have so many songs on my old puter then it crashed. The hd shorted out.

As far as adware programs go the best one that I found was:

AD-AWARE by Lavasoft.

I had so many adware files on my computer and since I downloaded this free program, my computer has run much better.

1. the "pay" version has blockings where it blocks from getting on the puter..
2. the "free" version has no blockings so you will need to contantly run the program to clean your computer from adware programs. it is very worth it!

Here's their comparison chart: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

The thing is, with the free, I have good search results, quick download speeds, I've never seen an ad or gotten any adware/spyware, I can usually find a source (granted, it's easier during peak usage times), I've never needed support, and I'm doing fine without upgrades. I'm sure it's worth the money for some, but I haven't seen any reason to go for the Pro verson.

I also run adaware on a regular basis, and Limewire has never been the source of any kind of adware or spyware.

Anyone have any luck downloading any smut? since we are on the topic of downloading.........:D

No. Exact opposite actually. Kazaa media desktop is LOADED with spy/ad/malware, as compared to Kazaa lite++, or kazaa lite resurection which has zero ad/spy/malware in it.
Problem with kazaa lite is that it's the most popular system out there, and the RIAA and record companys flood the system with dummy files/incompletes to discourage D/L of anything. It has a IP blocker in it though so the RIAA (or anyone for that matter) can not trace your IP.
WinMx is probably your best bet now, but it doesn't "hide" your IP, but far, far less dummy/incomplete files. Second choice would be emule. The only drawback with emule is you have to wait for so long to start D/Ls sometimes, but that's where i go for that certain song I can't find anywhere else, and it's also good for your porn shit too.

Pro cost $$$.....never, NEVER EVER pay for ANY P2P service......you're foolish if you do. Also, limewire is loaded with all kinds of shit in it.

Learn how to use/run Bit Torrents....it's quickly becoming the P2P system of hundreds of thousands

I suggest using edonkey 2000 for programs, movies, porn, anime, tv shows, anything you could want expect for music.

For that I suggest using WinMX, or legal services such as I-tunes or allofmp3.com. I would go the legal way, allofmp3 is Russian site, so it might not be totally legal, but it is only one cent for a MB, which comes to about 3 - 4 cents for a song, less than the 99 cents for I-tunes.

Some links if you want them.

http://www.edonkey2000.com/ Client.

Link sites, contain the files, and you just click on the edk link to have it go to the client, makes sure all the files are nice and clean, and that you get what you want.

I like WinMX. It is easy to use and no spy/adware. Also SoulSeek is a good choice. KazaaLite is a hacek copy of Kazaa that has had the spy/adware removed. It is an illegal version, and thus hard to find now. And AdAware is a great free spyware killing program!

I was lucky enough to download Kazaa Lite++, before the owners of Kazaa started threatening legal action against sites that distributed the program. I've only used it to download porn and have had some success and some aggrevation with it. Downloading porn files is a hit or miss thing, since you can't be entirely sure of the content, subject, and quality until you've downloaded it. I think a new hacked version of Kazaa is around now, Kazaa Lite Resurrection or something like that. I've been thinking about giving WinMx a try.

Thanks for the info. I've ued Kazaa but the spyware! I have a friend who works in computer support that uses WinMx so it would come with his recommendation, but I've never tried it.

Yep, for the most part, WinMx does the best overall for me, but I also use emule for movies and whole albums, and then KaZaa mixed in there.

Soulseek is the best I've found so far (http://www.slsknet.org/). Spy/adware free. There are not many incomplete/fake songs as well. It also continually searches for your item. (i.e. New member comes online - thier files appear on your search results)
