I would have quit too. I realize how fortunate I am. I didn't work until I was 18 and in college. My first job was as a lab assistant in the biology department. It was a great job, since that was my minor. After that I worked a couple of summers with city recreation. Since 1970 I've had the same job.

I'm a mechanical engineer ... I now have my own business doing private consulting and believe me I can identify with working 24/7. I worked for a major oil company since I was 17 till almost a year ago. Started out as a receptionist, moved to the purchasing dept., then to the engineering dept. and decided to go to school then. I mostly worked in the oil testing department trouble shooting diesel engines...so I'm more of a glorified diesel mechanic!!!

I've also designed a muffler system that is published in one of Caterpillars engine buildup manuals. (my claim to fame???)

I'm also a certified piston rater.

We got cams where I work too....97 of them. Problem is, they spent so much on the cams, they can't afford to pay anyone to watch them
