I love how the far left tries to make out Trump voters as if they were wanting Donald Trump from the beginning. I didn't even pay attention to the election until it was Trump Vs Cruz. At that point, my first thought was "That's the best they have?"
This could be worse. Look at the previous candidates on the conservative side. I didn't even vote for either of Obama's two terms. Sarah Palin as VP? Then a Mormon?! Those are worst than Trump! The Repubs had nobody.
Then Hillary BSed her way past Bernie Sanders, leaked emails that were confidential, and acted like she was an angel. Hmmm... Saudi Arabia gave you how much money? And you care about women's equality? What the fuck ever!

It is never appropriate to use that phrase where, as here, obviously all you really mean is "Democrats" or "liberals." Not even Bernie Sanders really qualifies as far left.

Here's who I think voted for Trump:
50% Habitual Republicans who will pull the lever for whoever the party nominates, and hopes he is on board with the establishment GOP's policies coming out of Congress and won't do too much damage otherwise, but sectrely thinks Trump is a gaudy, classless asshat.
20% Evangelicals who will vote for whoever will advance, or at least not stand in the way of, their anti abotion crusade, but secretly think Trump is a sinful weirdo.
20% Frustrated low info blue collar workers who either got duped and believe there is a way to magically bring America a manufacturing based economy back, or who just said "fuck it, I don't care anymore" and voted as a cry for help... or for the lulz. And who don't really have any love for an over the top New York billionaire with a trophy wife and a golden loo.
10% #MAGA tweeting, novelty hat wearing True Believers, together with assorted White Supremacists, and other crazies.
The Basket of Deplorables (TM) isn't really all that big.
He won because, as the saying goes, Democrats fall in love (and didn't this time) and Republicans fall in line (see the 50%).
