Where are the New England Peeps?

I'm not a native New Englander, more of a Central New York girl, but I did spend my college summers working in bars and hotels in Maine. Mostly in Bar Harbor. Lots of tourists, lots of money, and at night, lots of action.

I was working in a bar one summer, watching two tourists, each visiting with a large group of friends. The two didn't know each other before entering the bar, but over the course of an hour, they went from casual conversation to a mutual trip to the bathroom, then out the door, and I watched them march into a hotel. From that point, I lost track of them, but I can only imagine what came next (which I did in a story). If you know Bar Harbor, Maine, you might enjoy this one - The Maine Attraction.

People might not think of New England as a hotbed of erotic encounters, but ask anyone who’s ever worked in the service industry—restaurants, hotels—and they’ll tell you a good New England story or two.

I’m in Connecticut and I concur. Probably more subtle here, but still some sex clubs around and swingers. I’ve been to Bar Harbor, will check out your story Wendy.

New Englanders tend to avoid showiness in everything. If someone looks rich they probably aren't , but if they look solid and unremarkable, they just might be.

Just read it, 5 stars. I may have spilled some seed reading it, quite erotic.
Have to get back to Bar Harbor soon.

Red Sox trade for starting pitcher Johan Oviedo and give up #3 prospect, Jhostynxon Garcia. The Sox also gave up right hander Jesus Travieso. Boston received left hander Tyler Samaniego and catcher Adonys Guzman.

Oviedo has a history of being injured but when healthy has good numbers. Garcia was called up for a short time during the season and you may remember him as “The Password”.

The Mets picked up Cooper Criswell as the Red Sox DFA’d him yesterday. I thought they might keep him.

I don’t think you will find an any sex clubs in Mass, NH, VT, or ME. RI has some, and I have no idea about CT. Swingers are definitely on the down low.

New England is a rare breed of cat. For the most part we espouse a more liberal agenda, and are generally accepting of LGBTQ, but we are still quite puritanical in a lot of ways.

I think I smell another world champion for Boston this spring
Pats 11-2…I thought for sure we had seen the last of this for my lifetime. I didn’t have high hopes for Mike Vrabel but he has definitely proved me wrong. Not gonna say anything else. Don’t want to jinx anything!

Although the Patriots don’t HAVE to win on Sunday vs. the Bills, it would be nice if they COULD win and wrap up the division. I thought Cincinnati had that game all wrapped up yesterday….Ugh.

Remaining games:

New England:
Buffalo
@ Baltimore
@ Jets
Miami

Buffalo:
@ New England
@ Cleveland
Philadelphia
Jets

I have a client from CA and she describes us as incredibly conservative for being very politically liberal. There is a bunch of stuff that works, and changing it doesn't actually make sense.

I agree. We need to be able to beat the Bills at home or we just aren't good enough. I am feeling a bit better about playing the Ravens the following week.

Your client hit the nail on the head boo! I also agree that it’s not a good idea to try and change that. Our odd duality has made us, and continues to make us a very successful region of the country.

It would be good if leaned a little less into strictly white collar education. We need to raise investment in and status of the trades. For every PhD working in Pharma there are many lab support and facilities jobs that we aren't doing a great job of training people for.

Part of the problem was educators used vocational schools as a dumping ground for problem kids, and we had the every kid should go to college mantra. This was true when I was in school 50 years or so ago, and it got worse (and I was in Cambridge where there was really good vocational training).
