Where have the authors gone?

Recently, four - five of my favorite authors have quit posting.
Previously, they were pretty prolific.

Has anyone else noticed an exodus?
Any ideas why...new forum rules perhaps?
(Though none wrote underage or restricted stuff).

Or is it just like the store quit stocking my favourite pizza? :)

There have been some issues with the publishing process. Long approval times, rejections for suspected use of AI, formatting glitches. It's possible the writers became so frustrated with Lit that they gave up.

Alternatively, maybe recent goings-on in the world have killed their desire to write erotica.

I know the recent rules drove several prolific posters off the forums, but the story area wasn't as badly hit, until the last few months.

I suspect it is the organization challenges and changes here rather than anything external. The other amateur author multi genre posting sites seem to be doing fine.

Im working with an author here who recently admitted to having a heart attack. That shocked me, sometimes I forget that these are real people. I fear now that there are a few who have passed away and because of their secret hobby. No one has notified their fans. I had a friend online who I later learned died of cancer. His daughter contacted me telling me he passed away and without saying it was disgusted with his hobby of writing femdom erotica.

I don’t know if I qualify as an author per se. I have contributed stories no doubt, and I’m not a professional but hey, I’m learning.

I’m not as inclined to post as much lately or write as much because I’m tired of the “anonymous “ critical a holes that figure they can degrade or pick apart what I wrote. Honest constructive criticism is fine; no problem. But when a keyboard warrior is degrading and laughing at what you write, it’s no wonder people are leaving, or not contributing as much.

Sorry, just my two cents.

Fair enough. When Ieave a review I try to always give constructive feedback. I think it also shows the level of education one has. I went to college and try to do a short review as I was college newspaper movie reviewer or try to bring in some of my art research paper background.

After writing two well-received stories that were published here, my third and fourth stories were rejected for no good reason. If the prudish Spanish Inquisition Board would only state which sentence or two prickled their feathers, I would edit them. But for now, I see no reason to waste my time, energy and creativity writing arousing stories that are not allowed to be appreciated.

I’m sure there are other writers who feel the same.

Sorry to hear that. Do you have a link to your previous stories?

@annabellebrito Here is fine! I wish I could go back and edit “My Intro to Homosexuality.” That was my first story here and I can see dozens of ways it can be improved upon.

I’m satisfied with “The Hood” but I believe my third and fourth stories were even better. It breaks my heart that the Censorship Demons won’t allow them to be seen. They killed my babies.

Okay, I ended up leaving my feedback in the comments section last night. It was getting late and I just wanted to pound out one review before the night is over. You will find the review there. I think you know what I will bring up. I actually liked the way the professor/teacher approached his student. That was well done, but needed a bit more of establishment in his background and such. Not bad.

Try Nifty. I published a story there a few years ago.
