Where you from ? WHY ?

It's pretty interesting with so many threads with where you from ? and State roll calls. What's the point ? It seems like everyone jumps in and states where they are from but that's it .
I'm pretty sure its an attempt t hook up with someone close by but even that looks hopeless. I've seen people who are just looking for info get ignored.
with Lit being such a world wide forum it feels like everyone are horny bastards. But in reality when you think about it. We are actually the few. I'm sure everyone on earth is horny and want certain things but majority of people kep that inside and really don't express it as easily as lit members.

Those threads have always seemed idiotic to me. Someone posts for people from Canada so someone on the Atlantic coast can say hi to someone on the Pacific? They are 3000 miles from each other!

I think those kind of threads are mostly an indication of the average age of Lit users

The internet has made it easy to find people all over the world who share interests (and even kinks) - no need to rely on proximity to exchange ideas and more

Of course there might be a few who dream of hooking up in person, but I think most of those have found out long ago that dedicated apps are a much better way of pursuing that.

(Oh, and a related pet peeve: Why do so many Americans think the whole world knows what e.g. IL or PNW is? - the world is bigger than you think )

There's a lot of truth to your observation about folks on Lit. I've been on Lit for almost 20 years. Not sure what the deal is with the join date. From my time on Lit, I would agree the vast majority are horny bastards looking for a hook-up with someone in their area. Which I will admit, I fell into that category many years ago. And I found a couple of great ladies during that time to play with. And I did happen to find my current playmate here on Lit. So the only reason I like to hang around the forums are for the occasional banter, and genuinely finding new friends.
I'm sure there are a few stalkers on here, who are always looking for "locals." Let's be honest. There are a lot of deviants out there. And Lit is the perfect breeding ground for them.
And then you have those who think they are looking for a "hook-up". So they try and connect with someone local. But when they find that someone, they chicken out and go dark. They're really here for the thrill of the hunt. Mostly because they're married and can't do anything about it.
I'm guessing if you polled 100 Litsters as to why they're on the forum and messaging with others, you'd get 100 different reasons.
Just my two cents as I sit here in beautiful, sunny Florida, bored on a Sunday morning.
