Obviously, people do look at nudie pics. Otherwise, how do you explain the continuing popularity of magazines like Playboy. I know, I know, the articles, etc. Maybe so but mostly the pics. Not to mention the pics available on these forums, such as the one Rain just posted. They get thusands of views, from the rather limited audience that reads these threads.

Obviously that's true but I still think of them as being non-real. First, because they often are very artificial, with silicon and other artifices, and I know that makeup and clever lighting provides a lot of the glamour. Personally, I would rather look at the AV of Tatelou or Honey or Sweet or Lucky or Dita when she isn't smoking, even though she has every right to rot out her lungs if that is her wish.

Oh yes, absolutely. As a self-confessed semi-lurker on the AmPics board, I can tell you that visual erotica is still alive and thriving, although the trend these days in internet porn is pushing very heavily toward amateurs, both real and imagined.

Ogg, it's very true about the imagination. If it wasn't why would so many people be buying Lingerie? (And yes according to something I read a while back it's mainly men who buy this for their S.O.'s.)

As for the professional versus Amatuer aspecs. I personaly prefer the Am. Maybe it's because those slight blemishes are what make the person real to me. Maybe the breasts sag and aren't the size of Soccer Balls. Maybe she has a slight bulge in the belly or love handles. Maybe the behind isn't as taught as a Pfc.'s bed in Boot Camp. Hell, maybe she has a bit of razor stubble. This just makes them more real to me, which allows me to use my imagination a bit more.

Going back to the original question - and noting that the poll response so far is unanymously for the known person - I wonder why that is the case.

I know my own answer.

The difference is that while both lead to fantasies, with someone I know, then I have context, can plan strategies, and - if she said yes - then it could become reality.

With the unknown, famous person, I 'know' I won't meet them. On the occasion I did meet Prince Philip, I was so gob-smacked by the fact itself that I was speechless - and know that would be the case with any celebrity (possibly with the exception of being introduced by a mutual acquaintance - but since I have no acquaintances who know celebrities, that ain't gonna happen!)

In consequence, I can't plan, envisage, imagine, any credible scenario of getting off with a celebrity. It's unreal - and for me that means it doesn't hit my gonads.

Sure I can look at an erotic pic of some celebrity and jack off, but it would be the movements of my hand that would get me off, not the possibility that I might really get my leg over.

your question mixes two issues, beauty/sexiness and familiarity.

suppose the latter is the main issue, then...

for clarity, it should imho say, which pictures are more arousing, those of a beautiful unknown woman or a beautiful known woman.

To that, I'd say the former because of the fantasy factor. But with one qualification.

The qualification is that the latter would of course be more arousing if accompanied by a note suggesting a desire for hot sex with me, and that that desire is shown in the pics and in the sending of them. Here the real may trump the fantasy.
