I'm taking a survey.

A couple weeks ago probably THE most popular member of this bulletin board was trolled. Boo hoo boo hoo. Hear the boys crying? I'm not being sarcastic, people were upset. And I do believe this trolling prompted Lil-Brandi to leave the board.

Is anybody interested in who the troll was?

Yes or No. The answers I read tomorrow will determine whether or not I spill the beans.

Of course, this is just a theory of mine, you know, like who killed JFK.

And I don't want anybody screaming "proof it!" again at me because then I just might have to.

Nope, not a bit interested. Sounds like an attempt to stir shit to me. If whoever it was made Lil-Brandi leave that was her choice.
 
I always want to know who the trolls are.

a) Because it gives me an excuse to let loose the raving bitch in me.

b) I think people who need to make a fake name to insult a person are sorry, immature pieces of trash. If I can be a jerk under my own name, so can everyone else. (Scared little bitches)

c) If it is someone I consider a *friend* I'd like to know so I can disassociate myself from a moron who needs to hide as a troll.

d) I like to be a bitch.


You don't need to PROVE it, a theory is a theory and I have my own ;)

Dammit Deborah, why are you feeding into my conspiracy addiction?!? Ok, so get it over with.....come on....spill it....who chased everybody's favorite young vixen off? Or did she find some college football all-american to tie to the frat house bed and alternatively spank or blow?

Why do you always seem to know who trolls who? Curious minds want to know...could they all be you? *G* J/K Lighten up!! Geez!
 
Here's how I feel about the whole troll issue...We leave the guest option open so that people who feel uncomfortable expressing themselves on a sex BB can do so without having to register. We also leave it open so that people can use it for humor - aka posting as Gnufi's Left Nut or whatever.

We expect people to act responsibly, but we try to have as few rules as possible. If someone comes on the BB and acts like a dick, and everyone insults him or her, that's what the dick gets for being a dick. You can't walk into a bar or a job or anywhere else and be an asshole without repercussions. This is a real community, with real live people. There are consequences to every action. Being an asshole = being at the receiving end of a few (hopefully) witty barbs.

Occasionally, someone uses the guest feature to post unfunny, unwitty, vicious things about another member. These trolls have no qualms about humiliating and degrading another person in a public forum. Therefore, I have absolutely no pity or sympathy for any such troll whatsoever. If you give it, you'd better be ready to take it. Since this is a self-policing community, I don't think there's anything wrong with the community members taking a hardline stance against mean-spirited vicious trolling. I personally think such behavior is EXTREMELY childish and cowardly.

At the same time, I think a witch hunt is a waste of time and does more harm than good. Dwelling on this sort of negativity only serves to validate the troll(s) and encourage this sort of activity. I think the REAL answer is for all of us to take troll posts with a grain - nay, a shaker full - of salt. Ignore them. Don't even respond. That's the key.

I know it's hard. Recently I found myself arguing with a troll on another thread. If you see me doing that again, slap me. I'll do the same for you, if you like.

I'm sure that the troll(s) in question would scream bloody murder if they themselves were the victims of the kind of vicious character assassination they are so found of dishing out. It'd be nice if these trolls would grow a pair and go face-to-face with those they dislike, instead of hiding behind multiple guest names. However, I'm definitely not holding my breath on that one.

Thank you for your words of wisdom, its ashame that this great community that you have created has to deal with the asshole trolls. I just hope people here at Lit takes your advice.

At least I'm starting to figure out what a troll is. I like to think I know a little about a lot of things, which means there's a lot I know little about. Sometimes that's not so bad.
 
The thing is...

I don't see the trolls going away, does anyone else? There were here when I joined and they're still here months later. And - has anyone else noticed how the "witch hunt" threads are some of the most read?

Laurel, I promise I will slap you if you will return the favor and slap me too (ONLY LAUREL, the rest of you put your hands DOWN)...let's see that's politics and trolls - CHECK.

And, you know...another thing is the people who post on troll posts saying "IGNORE THE TROLL." I mean...it's like a bad punch line that keeps popping up ("Maybe they should try Hare Krishna..."). If you post on a troll post saying "IGNORE THE TROLL" you are NOT IGNORING THE TROLL. Email people who seem to be taking it too seriously or something. It's just too sad to watch.

Trolls are a part of life. They're here on the board, they're in real life in our families, at work, where we go to have fun. It's the way things are. There are people who are not going to like you. Just like there are people who are not going to like me.

I don't think we should change things that would keep people who have an opinion on something but don't feel comfortable registering just to keep a few no good trolls out. That, I think, would be wrong.

Whoever did the trolling is a jackass. Lil-Brandi was a wuss of the first water for letting them run her life. L-B chose to leave on her own. No one forced her. It was entirely her decision. She can come back whenever she wants to and she never had to leave in the first place.

So she got trolled. Tough shit. Everyone gets trolled. The Deborator gets trolled pretty much constantly from registered's and guests alike. See her running? No, L-B isn't as strong as Deborah is, but she has friends here. Too bad she didn't put enough stock in the friends she does have, which are many, to ride out the trolling.

So she got trolled. Whoopee fuckin do. Grow a fuckin backbone, huh? Fight back, ignore the troll, start a "yay me!" thread, beat on your S/O, leave, whatever cranks your camshaft. Just don't forget the people who are here who do care about you.

I could not agree more!! While I have not been posting for long here I find the threads about who did what to whom a bit disturbing. As to being trolled, my first thread on this BB was trolled and at first I got upset by it. Then I realized that I was being accepted as someone of worth whose opinion, while not always popular, did elicit some response. Hell my last post was trolled no less than 6 times and I only got 7 responses. Did it upset me, HELL NO, I just laughed it off and went on about my life. Lil Brandi darlin come back to us. Those of us who love you miss you terribly, and those that troll you are only jealous that they are not you darlin. Don't let the trolls win!! And Deborah we really don't need to see who trolled her. All you do by idebtifying them is give merit to what they did and do. I am going to be a part of the bad punchline.......IGNORE THE STINKIN TROLLS!!!!!!
