Just had to agree with Laurel, Snappy, Shyguy and whomever else about those idiots who punish kids for being kids and pets for being pets, etc.
Laurel, we see that kind of crap in our grocery stores all the time! That poor little girl in that situation you witnessed... oh that just makes my blood boil! Now she is going to grow up thinking that her behavior (being a kid) was just "not okay" and she will treat her children the same way.... dispicable!
Play IS the work of children (don't know who said that but it is extremely true!)
About the de-clawing thing... I am sure some people will get offended but I agree with (was it ShyGUy?)
That is their first line of self-defense and of attack... and people do this to protect their furniture....... (no time would it take EVER for me to answer if you asked me if I loved my cat or my futon more...)
Also and what to me is almost worse... "de-barking" a dog.
For one, it is a painful procedure and secondly... taking out a voice box or destroying it in some way is extremely sick and twisted and wildly inhumane. How would you like it if someone took away your ability to SPEAK?
I heard about these people that did it b/c their dog barked too much and when the operation was over and he tried to bark, only a small wheezing sound came out.
The dog, in sadness and despair, just lied down and put his chin between his paws, confused and feeling (what is the word I am looking for? Hmmm dont' know but you know what I mean right?) They all had a great laugh about it... they thought it was so damn funny with the whole wheezing noise and stuff.
So, someone you love talks to much?
I've got it, just remove their voice box, yeah there is an intelligent solution!
