Well, you could go federal with the police -- Secret Service agents, FBI agents, ATF agents, and Customs and Border Control agents.

If you really want a challenge .. try for an astronaut, I bet they are out of this world. There aren't many of those out there compared to law enforcement, so it would be a real coup to nail one of them. If you want a step down from that, I would say a fighter / test pilot is the next step down.

And I have to say, when you look at civil service, everyone gravitates towards Firemen and Police -- and nobody thinks of the Sanitation workers, Transit workers, or Teachers. Don't they need love too?

Love the puns! And yes, everyone needs love - what about the overworked public defenders, the postmen and women, and the poor souls that work at the DMV?! Think about how much better of an experience going to the DMV would be if those employees all had their needs met! Hahaha

I just can't stand idiots putting others into danger.

No problems with knees and shoulders for me and our full timers have two hours of sports every day to avoid that. I admit our annual fitness test is a little bit tiring. If you fail you are out. At least for artificial breathing.
But better a tiring test than tiring deployment.
