2024 was not that kind of election -- not a realigning election like 1932.

Trump is only going forge a new Democratic majority. Whatever comes after the Sixth Party System will feature Dem hegemony for decades, just like the Fifth. Because the Pub coalition is going to lose its social-religious conservatives -- they will die off, and not be replaced in commensurate numbers by younger generations -- and without those, they don't have a majority, not even in the reddest of counties.

The Pew Political Typology classifies those as Faith and Flag Conservatives. They are 10% of the population -- now -- but they are the oldest typology group, median age 57. Boomers and GenX. And there are few among the Millennials and GenZ who think like they do.
