Why are there no funny conservative comedians/humorists/cartoonists?

My favorite one that I've seen so far is The Little Bride because I love the grandpa and want his backstory. I feel like it'd be a better story than Susy bitching about pedophilia in the ancient world.

Lookit him. You know that there's a reason he hates Muslims that has to do with that missing eye. You just know that there's a backstory there that is FAR more interesting than the story that we're actually hearing.

I love 'em too, but they're for laughing at. HAW-HAW-HAW!!!

Jack Chick.

I don't know why you linked to rationalwiki. Just link to the source material and let people think for themselves. No context. That's how you're meant to go in. You're supposed to find these things, just out in the world with no context whatsoever. You can't know shit like the writer has had a massive stroke and expect to enjoy them the same way.

They're all available, for free, on the author's website.

I know, but Chick is off his game lately. See this Crusaders comic about Mormons. Where's the third act?! All it does is give Chick's take on Mormon history. In the classic days of Crusaders comix, the Crusaders would have done something to help the poor woman, beyond putting her on a bus. The murderers would have been brought to (man's) justice. And, inevitably at some point in the story, some benighted but good-hearted Mormon would be shown his errors and get saved, by the real Jesus, not that cheap ZCMI store-brand knockoff Jeezis.

BTW, both that comic and the tract you provided appear to have been drawn by Fred Carter -- not by Chick himself, the artwork is too good. Chick does all the writing but not all the drawing, and when he does draw the result is crappy by comparison.

There's a certain type of comic that just seems to lose it when they get older. Dennis Miller on the right, George Carlin on the left, Bill Cosby in the middle....I dunno, they just stop being humorous.

Limbaugh is a caricature.

Agree 100% with Mark Russell, he could walk a comedic tightrope very well.

I absolutely agree about Carlin and Cosby, and I was a big, big Cosby fan for the first half of his career. He really went flat in later years. Rambled on forever and rarely came close to a punchline.

And Carlin became so angry it was almost as if he openly rejected humor for outrage.

George Carlin only stopped being funny when he died. Dennis Miller was never funny, and Bill Cosby wasn't funny after 1980

The thing about Jon Stewart and The Daily Show: Stewart has never forgotten that he is a comedian first second and third, and only secondarily a "serious thinker."

The biggest problem with most "conservative humorists" is that they emphasize the conservative over the humorist.

Because any political joke ends up with the conservative being the punchline. As Colbert said, "reality has a left leaning bias."

The right often fails to understand that they shout liberty while pushing to the end of the political spectrum that ends up in totalitarian rule - see hitler. And yes, Hitler was a right-wing capitalist who hated gays, communists, people who were not white, anyone who wasn't a Christian - basically the Republican party's base. With beliefs like that, the only people who will laugh are those who agree with you. When Colbert and Stewart make a joke (I find Stewart to be more of a centrist) everyone except the right laughs with them.

I disagree about Carlin....and I say that as someone who bought two Carlin LPs in the 70s!

^^^THIS. I remember watching Carlin's last HBO special, it reminded me of the Simpsons' grampa "Man Yells At Cloud" picture. Not a single laugh in the whole damned hour. Painful.

Again, see post #14 -- some of Carlin's "Man Yells At Cloud" material was funny.

Because there is no funny Conservatards!

Naaaah. Conservative humor goes over your head, and liberal humor all starts with TODAY ISIS MURDERED 45 MORE CHRISTIANS, and you fall down tired from laughing..

In your case, it's just that not many people find "nigger" jokes all that funny anymore.
