He made Democrats take their masks off...

and

It's killing them! Like that Keanu Reeves movie where
the devil came out in those women and you saw what was beneath the veneer.

Other than that, he's no Jesus Christ Superstar:

I don't see why he moves them
He's a man, he's just a man
And we've had so many men before
In very many ways, he's just one more...

I like Trump because he's a lousy negotiator but still managed to fool an entire nation that he could tie his own shoes let alone make a deal. :)

I like trump because he encouraged racists to take off their masks and be openly racist.

All those non-racist white people

voted to be represented by Grandpa

when they had choices of color offered to them...

;) ;) :p

I will like Trump if (when) he loses bigly in November. His landslide defeat will Make America Great Again. So yes, I actually believe he will fulfill that promise, in a roundabout way and opposite to what his cultists may think, but if Americans can reject and move past him this ridiculous episode can still be a net positive in the grand, historical order of things.

With the electorate deeply divided and entrenched,
no landslide will suddenly materialize...

^^^ I'm hoping his last ride on AF1 will be to The Hague to stand trial.

Given that, a ~10% national popular vote margin would qualify, and/or if he indeed loses Texas... hell, even if he's holding on there within just a percentage or two, it may still qualify.

On the other hand, more narrow margins may probably even more effectively ensure destruction of the current Republican party in the long run, but too close and there's some very ugly scenarios.

I like Trump because we now know who the "stupid" are. He brings out the best!

Edit: and the racists as well!

I'm actually not so sure about that.

There's a segment of the voting population that is waffling from one side to the other faster than the needle on a seismograph during an earthquake. If they suddenly stabilize behind Biden, there could be a landslide which the Demmies will take as a mandate to revise our entire society in the image of Minneapolis.

If they swing and stick behind Trump, it'll be a blowout when the House changes hands and the Senate remains conservative.

We can discuss it all we like but the truth is that about 1/3 of the voters are indecisive. Not undecided, indecisive. I've seen gale warning flags flap slower than their political stances change.

Did anyone notice how bizarre-ridiculous his latest tans are?

Every time he blinks, it's like the movies "V" or "Invasion of the body snatchers",
because his eyelids& hands are pale-White, the rest of his face: dark orange.

I have no issues with him tanning, I think it makes him look good & younger.
But he needs to fire whoever is assisting him.

All those "non-racist white people" voted for him because they bought into the propaganda.

As did I - I used to like Trump because I believed what you, Ish, RG & were telling me.
Because you're all intelligent people and wordsmiths, and have access to the best Right leaning think tanks. And you're genuine.

But now that you guys are trying to pretend things are "in our heads", that we're either h8ers or uneducated
when covid/the riots openly exposed Trump's incompetence and ruthlessness

I feel taken for a fool and condescended, and increasingly resentful.

He's not 'tanning'. He may have years ago, but now it's all orange pancake, self applied probably.

Unless I’m mistaken, “voted to be represented by Grandpa” was referring to Biden as “Grandpa,” not the Twittiot.

People tend to mimic the information they're given. If the source of your information is pro/anti Trump, that's what you tend to believe.

I used to watch ABC in the evenings to get my news. I even liked Peter Jennings in his broadcast show and thought he was a good journalist.

I stopped watching after ABC replaced him after he died with an incompetent first, then a very good journalist who turned out to be a puppet willing to say/do anything to keep his cushy job.

Trump is no better and no worse than other Presidents. What's different about him is 2-fold. First, the news cycle is 24/7 and social media allows it to spread faster. It also allows false information and flat out lies to spread faster too.

Secondly, Trump is someone who polarizes people. You either like him, or you hate him and it has NOTHING to do with what he does/says. It's all you. Something about him sets you off. Most people say they don't like him because he's "orange", or a "liar", or "incompetent" or "not presidential". The reality is that it's none of that, it's something else.

It could be the tone of his voice, the way he moves, the red tie, or who knows what. Whatever it is, it sets you off pro or con. But again, that's on you.

Not everyone is like that. Not everyone polarizes others. Those who don't have no real understanding about the phenomenon and often tend to dismiss it. Trust me, it's real and it's not because of the person. It's because we all have our own internal likes/dislikes and often they aren't something we think about or can even articulate.

However, it's those indeterminate things upon which just about everything in our lives are based upon. From the fact that a man whose mother was small breasted subconsciously prefers small breasted women as potential mates to the consistency of our favorite ice cream and many others. Those aren't choice we make after a period of decision making, they're preferences we have because of first impressions and they stick with us.

Those who don't like Trump don't like Trump because they don't like Trump. Anything they say to support their decision is after-the-fact justification and nothing more.

That people, in this day and age of information, don't understand that (or worse intentionally ignore it so that they can justify their own hatreds) is an indicator that we as a society and people are so fucked in the head we STILL don't know our asses from Shinola.

Why I like Trump
(snip)

..."But some people refuse to admit they’re wrong, even in the face of overwhelming evidence: "They let him go because of DNA evidence and another dude’s confession? Ridiculous! That’s the guy! I saw him!”

The first two examples are probably familiar to most of us, because those are typical responses to being wrong. We accept responsibility fully or partially (sometimes, very, very partially), but we don’t push back against the actual facts. We don’t claim there was enough milk when there wasn’t, or that we were not late to the airport.

But what about when a person does push back against the facts, when they simply cannot admit they were wrong in any circumstance? What in their psychological makeup makes it impossible for them to admit they were wrong, even when it is obvious they were? And why does this happen so repetitively — why do they never admit they were wrong?

The answer is related to their ego, their very sense-of-self. Some people have such a fragile ego, such brittle self-esteem, such a weak "psychological constitution," that admitting they made a mistake or that they were wrong is fundamentally too threatening for their egos to tolerate. Accepting they were wrong, absorbing that reality, would be so psychologically shattering, their defense mechanisms do something remarkable to avoid doing so — they literally distort their perception of reality to make it (reality) less threatening. Their defense mechanisms protect their fragile ego by changing the very facts in their mind, so they are no longer wrong or culpable."...
