Well, I don't suppose any nation in the world is at present better equipped and prepared than the U.S. for that kind of rapid expansion. We do have the world's biggest MIC already, it's just a matter of pouring money into it and ramping up production. It began right after WWI, Germany began covertly rebuilding its military under the radar of the Treaty of Versailles. What looks like a “fast” buildup in the late 1930s was actually the culmination of nearly two decades of preparation, innovation, and strategic patience. Wars aren’t just won on battlefields; they’re won in factories, training grounds, and political labs long before the first shot is fired. The “overnight” success is just the visible tip of a very long timeline.
The U.S. didn’t just build troops fast; it transformed its entire economy to produce weapons, vehicles, ships, and planes at a scale no other nation matched. That kind of buildup takes years of groundwork in factories, logistics, and training pipelines. So yes, quick military expansion is possible, but only if the foundation is already strong, and the nation has the resources and planning to support it. That’s the 20-year head start most overlook.
