The inference he was PNG'd was up the line, starting with the thread slug. I didn't say you claimed he was. PNG is a formal act, it's not an "effect is the same." If going for effect, PNG shouldn't be used. It's a formal diplomatic act, with formal relationship effect.

There seems to be a great deal of screaming Trump baby balloons,
with full diapers, in the opinion section.
I am drawing a line that connects the blocked move paid to Nancy Pelosi,
and the blocked participation of Amb. Kim Darroch.
Trump and his team of schemers cooked up a way to get Trump out of
a budget discussion meeting. (The podium in the Rose Garden with a
graphic poster plastered on it, was a dead giveaway of pre-planned.
The closed curtian in the budget meeting room, blocking the view
to the Rose Garden nailed it.)
It did not matter, in the least that Nancy Pelosi had said that Trump
was engaged in a “coverup."
A pretext for throwing a tantrum was needed.
Nancy Pelosi stupidly fell into the hole, and provided one.
It is simple-Trump did not want to be seen making compromises
with Democrats. His voting base has a rabid and unhinged hated for Pelosi.
Second, he had no spending plan, and he made no provisions to fund the
budget. Third, he would have been faced with facts, figures, and a roomful
of intelligent people, ready to ask him questions based on reality. If there is
anything Trump hates, it is to have his flaws discussed, and his "image"
blighted.
Trump and his band of American crooks did not want Amb. Kim Darroch
at the dinner party.
I have a sneaking suspicion, that some of Boris Johnson's associates, and
Rupert Murdoch pulled some strings to get hold of the memos and cables.
It does not matter in the least, what Ambassador Kim Darroch has written about Trump.
Trump cultivates the clown side of his public persona to comfort the
more easily amused of his herd of base voters. Hearing someone insult
their "hero, " is a dinner bell calling them to savage an "enemy."
Trump needed a pretext for excluding him, and someone found it.

The thread title does pretty clearly imply he was made PNG...(though the conversation that follows make it clear he wasn't).
And just for entertainment, I was looking on Wikipedia about people who were declared PNG and stumbled on a list of people banned from the UK - and saw Martha Stewart and Dog The Bounty Hunter. It cracked me up. A lot of the names I could easily understand, but Martha Stewart? Dog the Bounty Hunter? That just gave me a good laugh and I developed this mental image of them teamed up and rampaging down the streets of London ala Mad Max.

2. He has a reputation for being a kiss up, kick down operator and an arrogant prick who bullies his junior colleagues.
3. His advices were submitted to London in coded form. The transcripts released to the Daily mail were after that coded material had been re-translated back into English. Therefore, it's almost certain that the leaker was an insider Britisher who wanted to bring Darroch down.
4 A smarter President might have just ignored Darroch and allowed him dangle on the hook and to be an embarassment to the Brits until his time ran out (December 2019). Trumps outburst did the Brits a favour; old news by next week.
