Only if it's three. Three is the magical number, after all. Oh crap, I forgot- that is so not the point of this thread.
Speaking of the word "thread"...it does have four of the five main letters consisting of the word "three".
Thre-e-a-d.
But maybe I'm just digging here.

I mean....the odds are greater by a bunch I bet that there ARE more celebrities in communities like this than we think! Oftentimes the lifestyles of people in the media is VERY different than what we think and they spend substantial time out of the public view exhausted and probably lonely, too, when not working...

A community of writers/readers...eroticism...comedy like we see here sometimes that is GREAAAAAAAT!? It would make SENSE for them to come to Lit!

And they still won't believe me when I tell them that I'm Man o' War in a very extended secret retirement.

On a serious note, yeah I suck at joking when I know some of the methodology behind something and I freely admit it, lol.

It probably actually comes from the church, most Christian churches believing in the Holy Trinity: The father, the son and the holy spirit. When they started that it kind of stuck, plus if you look at it in the 'beginning' there was Adam, Eve and God. Now I'm not a religious person but it makes sense to me because the world in large is religious.

Three represents indecision, and compromise.

In Naples, Florida, I saw a store called, "More Than Just Futons & Barstools." There had to be a back-story; stores like that don't just pop into being at franchise shows.

This is how I envision it:

The family patriarch owned a respectably successful futon store, "Futons R Us." He fell in love with the owner of the struggling "Nothin' But Barstools." When they married, the two enterprises were combined and a dynasty was born.

Decades later, their adult children argue bitterly over the disposition of their joint inheritance, "Just Futons & Barstools." The eldest son feels duty-bound to keep his parents' legacy intact. "Just Futons & Barstools was enough for Mom and Dad," he insists, "and it should be enough for their heirs." His siblings are greedy to modernize, and insist on expanding the product line.

As a compromise, floor lamps and ashtrays are introduced. But when it is suggested that the name of the store be changed to, "Futons, Barstools, Floor Lamps 'n Ashtrays," the eldest puts his foot down.

A democratic solution is reached, and a third incarnation of the family business is unveiled: "More Than Just Futons & Barstools."

That's my story and it's as good an explanation as any.

Yes, three has always been a sacred number- There were triply manifested gods and goddesses long before the Bible was written.
Three fates; Clotho (The Spinner) Lachesis (The Weaver), Atropos(The cutter of the Thread)
Three graces; Aglaea (Beauty), Euphrosyne (Mirth), and Thalia (Good Cheer)

The Norse took it even further; Not only were there three worlds-- the underworld, the heavens and this one-- but there were three realms above us and three below. Odin, like Christ was killed and came back to life; he hung from the World Tree, Yggdrasil, for nine days.

I know there's more but I've given three examples and that's enough for me ;)

Gauche, you could have abbreviated the thread title to YOYOY which would have been more l33t.

HA HA HA

Notice the three Ha's.

This is an Americanized usage of Ha, which originated in Britain where it is rarely used in multiples.

In Eastern Europe and the Levant, more than two Ha's are considered insulting.
