Good point. I think there is a place for "traditional" or "conservative" science fiction but the market will find it. Military SF is dominated by conservative and libertarian writers. There's no grand conspiracy to shut them out there are just a lot more fish in the pond. RAH also had a built in audience of veterans and like-minded individuals when America was a lot less diverse. Arthur C. Clarke was secretly gay until towards the end of his life and Asimov was a groper of just about any woman in proximity. The type of Golden Age the Sad Puppies are trying to "recreate" never existed in the first place.
