In a bit of a panic. My sister wants to borrow my laptop. I have removed all my porn, so the laptop is pure again. My problem is my windows media. As I use windows media to view video clips. The playlist drop down box shows my playlist. You can not access the video clips, but you can see the names of them. I can not seem to find out how to remove the names or to rename in the playlist. I did go to Help, but it was not very helpful.

I use Window Media 9 Series

Anyone got any thoughts??

Thank you :)

You use a microsoft product?   ;)
There is your problem, you see MS and delete are totally incompatible, why would anyone want to remove any of their products? :p

Ok seriously, I did find this bit.If you already have a playlist created but you want to edit it after creation you can do so by opening up Windows Media Player and choose File -> Edit Playlist or CTRL+D. This will open the same window that you had when you originally created the playlist and you can remove songs by clicking the X at the bottom of the window or move songs up and down by using the arrow keys on the window.
If all else fails see if you can change the names of the files eg:Luscious Licking Lesbians becomes Dainty Dancing Ducks. :D

Hi sweety. :rose:

Hi sweety. :rose:Hey there...Hi there...Ho there...we are as happy as can be  :)

What I did was went to my file folder under playlist and deleted them that way...and wham bam thank you mam...they are gone. :D

dumb question: what OS are you using? wouldn't it be easier to create a separate user ID for her that doesn't give her admin rights (so she can't royally screw up your machine) and as importantly, can't see stuff you'd rather she didn't see?

ed

Windows XP or 2000? easy, just make her a separate Windows login account. then she can't see your bookmarks, browser history, media player history, or read your email.

if its win98...its yer own damn fault for using a decade old/last century/old milennia OS.

wait a sec: it's your sister? what the heck do you care? is she gonna be surprised that you use porn?

ed

Umm, just go and press delete. Thats all I ever have to do. And besides, who actually looks at those things and doesn't just click what they want?

The Simple answer is to just set her up a user account on your computer if your are running windows 2000 or XP so she cant even access your files. If you dont wanna do that I recommend that you download this to delete your browser histroy and your media player history. it is a FREE program get it here:
http://www.ccleaner.com

Also if you have video files saved onto your computer I would recommend hiding them in some folder deep inside of your computer where your sister wont be lookin for them. Dont just put them in your MY DOCUMENTS folder. Anyway hope this has helped out.

adaware will let you delete playlists as well... and is another free program...

Another way. Download Winamp and set everything to run there. Music, video and all that. Then you never have to worry about her going into that.

*hits hand against forehead* geezz wish I would have thought of that sooner. I will password my log in and then create a user id for her. I actually moved my files to my external hard drive, so she can't even see that I have files. This way I can still look at my files on my Desk Top PC. You know the kinds of files for research purposes. ;)

I'll check out those links. thanks

silverwhisper- My sister does NOT need to know that I am a pervert. :p :D

Thanks all for your ideas. Very much appreciated.

Enough of us do already, no need for the innocents to get involved.

It's very simple. Open Windows Media Player, select Tools, select Options, click on the Privacy tab, uncheck the box in History (Save file and URL history in the player), click OK and your done. No more problems.

CCleaner is a free program that removes pretty much all usage tracks from all common programs. Internet history, Media Player, Office, temp folders, etc.etc.etc.
