OOC: Looking for a well written MALE partner here. Other characters will pop up, so if you want, and don't feel comfortable posting, you may PM me. This thread is OPEN to anyone, but I have the descretion to ask you to leave, if you are not appropriate.

She looked out upon the open plains and wondered what was beyond. Determined to find an answer, she smiled as she signed her name on the documents in front of her. The family farm had just been sold, and she would have $50,000 to play with.

It wasn't enough to live off for the rest of her life, but she knew if she invested half of it wisely, she could take the rest and get away from this godforsaken wilderness, and see some of the world.

Maybe she could even get laid.

Yes, our readers, our herion of this story was a sad forsaken virgin.

Determined to change this status of misfortune, Moon brushed the blond hair off of her slim shoulder, and wondered if she shoud cut it. The hair fell upon her back, practically to her knees, and she turned her head to ponder. No, I like my hair, and if they don't, I don't want them, she thought.

With that, she took the money, got into her car, and headed for the nearest city she knew of....Kansas City.

Time had passed and the years hadn't erased the pain or the memory of "her" as I pulled into the weather beaten station and called to the attendant drowsing inside.

"I need a fill of gas and some air?" I asked him as I looked across the forlorn sight of the horizon, the hills filled with the blowing sand and topsoil from the third year of drought. "And hurry, if you can, I don't want to be caught in the dark as the wind rises"

I pushed the dual stand to the ground and pulled the heavy bike in place without effort, smiling at the sight of the handpainted picture on the teardrop tank.

*Sometimes you win* It decreed in solemn letters, the rest of the message unsaid but well felt each time I read it.

"Is there anyplace a person can "shack up" until the wind abates" I asked the greasy coverall clad figure as he approached and lifted the snout of the hose from it's resting place. "It looks like a real storm is brewing out there"

It's true, the flatlands can have it's time of death and destruction. The winds were whirling, and she knew she needed shelter. She found a remote hotel, and booked a room for the nigbt. She wasn't going to make her mark tonight in this weather.

She would need gas, but the hotel clerk insisted she could obtain that in the morning. All she cared about now was a good nights rest, and a safe haven for a few hours. This seemed the place, so she payed her measly 20 dollars and found her way to the lumpy bed provided.

She'd began her adventure.

Jessi (hotel clerk) If this is all right to join.

Jessi took the woman's money after assuring her that gas could be obtained in the morning. Twenty dollars. No wonder they paid her so little. Not to mention that there was never much business.

Jessi longed for something exciting to happen in her life. Life in this town was so dull and uneventful that she slipped into her fantasies to escape the boredom. These fantasies, though vivid and imaginative, had gotten her fired from three jobs prior to this one. Thank god they didn't check references here.

She had thought that meeting out-of-towners might prove to be interesting, and many had entered into her fantasies, but nothing had ever come of them. She was beginning to give up on it all. Perhaps she was destined to live in this place, settle down with Dustin, and raise a family. The thought of it sent shivers up her back. Marry Dustin...she didn't think she ever could. Granted, he was in love with her, but he had small town mechanic written all over him. She returned to her college applications, dreaming of parties at NYU. But she knew she would never be able to afford it.

She crumpled the essay on the floor as a man walked in the room. Wow, two customers in one night. The place was booming.

OOC: Welcome BLACK BART and soliloquy. Good writing from both of you.

IC:

Moon was really bored, as it was early evening. Nothing was on the tube, and she wasn't sleepy yet, so she wandered out to the lobby to speak with the clerk.

"Hi.....Jessi was it?" she asked looking at her name plate. "Is there a liquor store or a bar somewhere near? I think I'd like a good stiff drink."

Jessi

Jessi looked up at the beautiful woman who called herself Moon. She had at first thought that she was a daughter of hippies, but now she thought it was very fitting as she glowed the soft glow of the moon.

"Yes, it is Jessi. There is a bar a bit from here, but it's mostly the locals who are escaping their nagging wives. If you would prefer, and won't tell anyone, I have a stock of drinks. I keep it in the refrigerator in the room we use for staff who have to stay the night. I have beer, wine coolers, and some harder liquor. Or I could just give you the directions to the bar."

Jessi looked at her, hoping that she would choose to have a drink and talk to her. It got lonely working here in the off seasons--which was all the time.

"Ah, you are an angel! I really wasn't looking forward to some backward bar in the middle of nowhere. I just wanted a drink to help calm my body down. If a bar was the only place to get it, I'd do so, but I much rather have a nice private drink without assholes hitting on me....." She laughed with delight at her fortunate encounter with the pretty clerk.

"Show me the way!" Moon chuckled.

this was me.....

Jessi

Jessi was grateful for the chance to get away from the desk. You could hear the door buzzer from the employee room anyway--there was an intercom. She led Moon back to the room and shut the door behind them. The room was musty and the carpet was spotted and old. The bed in the room begged to be replaced. But, it was home--more often than not.

She opened the refrigerator, and leaning in, asked: "what would you care for?"

I followed "Dustin's" directions, pushing the ancient bike to a lean to where it would be out of the brunt of the storm and pulling my meager possessions from it before walking to the door of the poorly lit "office".

*Not the Hawaiin Hilton* I chuckled to myself as I pushed thru the door and made arrangements with the clerk as she made aquaintances with her first customer of the evening and left the small office with her. "But it'll have to do"

Taking the faded key I matched it to the equally faded number on the weathered door, opening the door with it and moving inside as the wind rose in volume behind me.

*Definately NOT the Hawaiin Hilton, or any Hilton at all* I concluded ironically as I surveyed the tidy but well worn room. Pulling a bottle from the saddle bags I placed them on the scratched surface of the lone dresser and stretched out on the bed.

"Wake me in the morning, porter" I laughed and pulled the cork from the bottle, pulling a long draw from it before replacing it...

"What I'd really like is a shot of scotch whisky, and to wash that down with a good ole' imported beer."

Moon replied.

Jessi

Jessi looked in the fridge. "Well, I can't help you with the imported stuff...i have Red Dog and Sam Adams. BUT--I can get you some scotch."

She left the room to her boss's stash. Surely he wouldn't miss one glass. Or two.

She returned and poured them both a scotch. She was in awe of this woman's beauty. It was awakening desire in Jessi's body. She felt a blush fall over her. It was, after all, a woman. No woman had ever made her want to touch and taste her. But this one...she turned her head away to regain composure.

"Sam Adams will do just fine.....especially if I can have that shot of scotch first." she replied. She couldn't help but to admire at the young clerks beauty, though she'd never been attracted to females before. She was such a cutie, wasting herself here like this. Perhaps she should ask her to join her on her adventure.

Sipping on the beer, and downing the scotch, she got up the nerve to articulate her thoughts.

"Jessi, would you like to join me, and leave this godforsaken place?" she inquired.

Hours passed and I rolled over, the nights quietness holding an eery quality in it that I couldn't quite put my finger on it. And then as I was about to relax and let myself drift off it hit me.

The quiet...The storm had blown over and the opportunity to move on was at hand. A few seconds and my gear was gathered and I moved outside towards the lean to where I had sheltered my "ride".

"Hey Girl, ready for the next leg to nowhere?" I spoke into the night as I used the pale moonlight to check it over. "We'll be on our way shortly"

Jessi

Moon might have been a man and said, "let me take you away from this place and love you into eternity," the way that Jessi's body reacted. She had longed for this, dreamed of this. How could this woman know?

She hesitated only in surprise. "Yes," she said simply. There was no need to stand on ceremony, or false apprehension. She wanted to go. She would go. She sipped her scotch and wondered where they would go. She didn't even care.

Careful inspection done I kicked the engine over, the reassuring rumble of the cylinders settling into thier uneven idle.

There had been a feeling for a fleeting second... one of false hopes perhaps that this place might have been the "one".

I pulled the Indian onto the tar top and gave her the throttle she and I both loved to "feel', not glancing back to see the unremarkable "town", or it's inhabitants....
