There are a lot of men on here, both openly male and pretending to be female. The liars are pretty easy to spot though! Haha.
The good thing is though there are some really genuinely lovely women on here too, you've just got to find them.

I too am frustrated about the extreme contrast between the views and the comments. I was looking for playful concentration on my thread in Amateur Pics, but I'm getting way more Private Messages than comments and of course WAY more views than anything. I guess the group playful conversation I was hoping for on the thread must instead be individual and private. But that could be good, just not what I expected.

That said, I think some places on Lit are more welcoming than others. Surprisingly, it is pretty cold over at BDSM Talk and Cafe...

it's a double edged sword with the M:F ratio.

The women who post on here are fantastic, imaginative women who quite rightly become objects of fantasy and desire for the majority male membership.

I have had a few PMs from women who have been quite rude, though, as if they have become accustomed to receiving praise and flattery at all times, and can talk down to 'just another male member.'

I must stress this is a minority within a minority though, and I love all you wonderful ladies ... Slurp, slobber etc

There are always bound to be far more views than posts. Ask any advertising person and they'll give you the figures for mailshots, questionnaires, and the like. Of all those sent out only a small proportion are looked at and only a tiny proportion get a response.

I suspect that the same kind of rule of thumb works here. It's probably compounded here by the fact that some people may feel very shy about posting, even behind the anonymity of a username. Maybe they're worried that they might be recognised. There are also people, and I am probably one of them, who don't want to look as though they're posting on every single thread. Time, sadly, is also a factor, of course - it takes longer to respond than to look and how many of us have all the time we might prefer?

As for posts and PMs. I tend to look upon posts as almost throwaway offerings, whereas PMs are more thoughtful and sincere. Some people probably use PMs in the hope of striking up some sort of relationship which is unlikely in the more crowded environment of the thread. (I wonder if those people realise that their PM is just one among hundreds.) The downside of PMs, I suppose, is that they are one-to-one and everyone else misses out on the exchange and they must be far more time-consuming to respond to than posts, but it must be flattering and interesting to receive them.
