i submitted a story like last week, it had said the wait would be about 72 hours (so thats like 3 days and i waited longer in case there was a lot going on)
anyway i would like to know if my story ever made it thru and passed, i check my submission page every day and see no approved submissions yet.
hope ya'll can shed some light on this for me
thanks

Read the FAQ on submitting stories....

How long will it take for my story to be posted?

This depends on how many stories we're currently receiving. We try to balance it so that submissions are posted as quickly as possible without overloading the reader and possibly burying your story. A story submitted to Literotica through the procedure outlined above generally will be posted to Lit within 3-7 days.

Welcome to Lit, by the way!

Well, it's summer, and it was a holiday weekend. Patience seems indicated, the exact amount of time varies considerably in my experience.

thanks for the support, you know i'm new and i have to learn the ropes and chains < grins>
thanks for the welcome too
i understand it being summer and probably a lil busy
thanks

Yes, and there are 'only' so many editors and they take their tasks serious. Writing a story is one thing, but editing it is so much more work sometimes. I'm not an editor HERE, by the way, but I can imagine that some stories are just a hell of a lot of work if you have to edit them well.

Hope your story will pass the test and gets published soon!

ahhh i checked it this morning and had to make some changes.
that is done, i hope this one makes it

When it's posted, put a link in your sigline, for those of us who are too lazy to look for it. ;)

If it doesn't, or you just want someone to give your work a look so you can avoid rejection in the future, check into the Volunteer Editor Program via either the author's area on the main site, or the Editor's forum. :)

thanks for all this valuble information, while i have been waiting i have been working on another story.
i will post it after i see how the first one is viewed
its nice to get some help as i am just getting started with this.
if ya sometimes chat and see me there don't forget to say hi

A few more points on posting times.

If there is a contest going on (other than the regular monthly one), the submissions for that will take a bit of priority.

Some authors will time their submission/posting for early in the month so their story will have more views and hopefully votes, in regard to the monthly contest.

The Editior's Forum is very helpful. There is a 'sticky' of people who are willing to edit (I've found this a better source than the volunteer list, as it is more current with potential editors.)

I wish you luck with your work and look forward to reading it. Welcome to Lit. :rose:
