To make a viable compound word, the operative words after 'Less' are 'On' 'En (a printer's unit of measurement) and 'Or' - all freestanding words in their own right.(-see, -son, can be words and have been used. (While /en/ and /or/ are words, and are commonly found at the start of other words, the idea of the game is to stay as close to compound words as possible, and there are few actual compound words that use en or or. en dash is one. My own word here, /slither/, doesn't mean /slit her/. but, nevertheless, we'll go ahead with whatever works to keep the game moving along.)
(I'm not big on Grammerly. "En," except as a printer's measure, is a bound morph, not a word; conjoining a printer's measure and a psychological state does not give us any meaning at all. "Entrance means either a way in or to put someone in an altered mental state, and not via use of a printer's measure. With your definition, every conjugation of a verb would be a compound word as would many nouns. But were here for fun, not grammatical arguments, so we'll go ahead and make whatever we can as compounds and such.}Entrance, Entire

The intent of the word doesn't matter. According to 'Grammerly':
"Compound words occur when two or more words combine to form one individual word or a phrase that acts as one individual word."
The two words needn't have a relationship to each other - only that are legitimate stand-alone words and create a legitimate compound word when combined.

Sorry, I didn't see that part of your comment.Leering
(break that up as 'lee' (as in shore), and 'ring.'
Does en count in Scrabble?
(Yes) it's also the spelling of the letter 'N'
I notice you copied everything from my post except:
PS:
lesser evil
(Less isn't a good word to play - not many possibilities from it, and we don't want to get overly repetitive.)
How many opportunities does 'evil' present, besides 'evilness?'
No good answer?

evildoer, evil eye, evil spell, evil twin, evil omen, evil forces . . . (two-word phrases are acceptable, of course.)
