I've not gone looking for the Etsy policies, but as you say, much of the art content published there (including photography) is certainly my definition of erotica - generally speaking explicit but not crass, thus navigating the dividing line between "erotica" and "porn" - whatever that is (it's subtle but I recognise it when I see it ). I agree, the key is to be sensible with it, and if it's obviously adult or mature content, label it as such.Actually, I thought it sounded like you could sell some of them, as long as they're tagged as mature content. It's hard to draw a line between "sexual activity" and "an extreme or explicit version of sexual content." It makes me wonder whether the policy is basically a fig leaf. If you Google "erotic art on Etsy" and check the image results, it demonstrates that in practice, pretty much anything goes.
For me, it's a question of the effort needed to get very high quality photographs of the artwork, which is a whole 'nother skill.
