Woven Rings Of Destiny ( Continuation of The Family)

Aria

"Alright, then i will leave you to sleep, but I am opening the door between our rooms from here for now. Hope you do not mind, but It's safer that way.." I pulled out another blanket from the closet and laid it over him, tucking it in around him.
"Need anything just holler and I'll come runnin', and if you feel hungry let me know too." I smiled and left through the connecting door. Poor guy probably thought I was acting like his mother.
Course in a sense I was, but someone had to watch over him that I could trust, and whom better to trust than myself?
I went into my room and opened the other door, walking in the bedroom where Joseph and Michael played.
"I am going to nap for a little while.. you two don't get into any trouble.." I chuckled and kissed Michael's brow before returning back to my room and laying down.

It was several hours before Lance felt his strength came up somewhat. He felt a bit refreshed, at least able to move and breathe in a somewhat normal fasion.
He wanted to go look at the ocean a bit.
Calling up the service desk he asked if they had some sort of wheelchair. He felt strong enough to walk, but the chore of walking in and of itself tired him. This way he conserved more strength.
A few minutes later a kind woman came with a chair. He gracious moved into it. The look in her eyes made him think he was some sort of cancer patient. He didn't dare look at himself in the mirror, fear of what might be staring back at him.
He wanted to wheel himself around, but she insisted she push him where he wanted to go. Seeing as she was one of those nice and kind, but strong as nails type of women, he didn't feel like arguing the subject much, and let her.
They used the elevators, going up to the top floor. Several vacationers gave him similiar cancer looks, but att his point the sweet salt air began to fill his lungs, and he was lost in a sea of memories.
He loved the ocean.
She wheeled him to the back of the deck, right up to the guard rail. There he sat, looking out at the deep blue that was underway. The shoreline long since gone, left nothing but blue horizon all around them.
"It's wonderful, thank you."
"Do you need anything."
He asked for a blanket, something to take the edge off of the ripping wind that came agaisnt him. It was a warm day, but still, the wind started to get to him.
She went to feth it, returning a few minutes later.
"I'll come back to check on you later."
He smiled, he'd be here. He didn't think he'd want to move from this spot for a while.

Aria

I napped for awhile then had a meeting with Joseph and Maggie, told them what was going on and what was going to happen when we got to scotland. I left Michael in Joseph's care and went to see Ray.
Entering his room I spoke briefly with him and then with Erika, checking to make sure she was alright. She was sound asleep as well and looked content. Too content to be worried overly over her safety or ours, but I did not wake her.
Moving back down to the main deck, I sat and had a drink before heading back into my room again. The ship would be sailing for three days before we reached our destination, that gave me plenty of time to plan and coordinate everything.
Paying for my drink I headed back to my room and sat down to read a little.

ooc: Shoty wants out, Ray is gone for two weeks at the least and GM is MIA. About to call it quits and end it right now. Will think on it and decide by tonight. Thanks for writing in here Pooh, Gm, Shoty, Ray, etc etc

Erika

I lay floating in heavenly softness and day dreaming. This bed and room was so luxurious, I could sleep here forever! I loved the feather down pillows and bedding. Like sleeping on a cloud.
I did not hear the door open until too late. Ray moved and stood over me, looking down at me.
Cocking my head a little, my brow furrowing slightly I gazed up at his dark eyes.
"Yeah? Something wrong Ray?" He did not answer me, his eyes moving over my features, I wondered what was on his mind? He was acting particular lately?
"Ray? You need something?" He sighed heavily, his hand reaching out and trailing a fingertip down the soft skin on my arm, tracing circles above my elbow gently.
"Nothing you can give me.. I see now.. Never mind.. It is too late for us to be in this together now.. I can see it." He mumbled and my eyes scrunched up further in confusion.
"What?"
He settled on the bed, my body stiffening slightly as silent alarms went off in my head. This was nuts.. Ray would never harm me! What was I thinking? Why was he acting this way though?
I nervously twitched a little, attempting to scoot away from his resting place beside me.
His hand shot out quicker than a blink of an eye, capturing my hip in his large hand and holding me in place.
"Don't!" He barked out, and then sighed, softening his voice as he chuckled. "Fighting me will do you no good Erika..."
I stiffened, ready to scream as my eyes widened a little.
"You... You wouldnt!?"
I laughed deeply, his eyes misting with mirth, "What? Rape you? Now.. I dont like well used cunts.. And face it Erika.. Yours is very very well used my dear.." His finger traced along my jaw bone and down my neck a little. He paused over my thumping pulse and sighed.
"You may look sweet, and smell sweeter.. But you are filthy and useless to me.. It could have been good between us if.."
"If?" I choked out.
"It doesn't matter, not now.... They are boarding the boat as we speak. Intent on the book, and other little items.. We have failed this mission."
"WHAT!?" I squeezed past my frozen lips.
"You hear me..." he grinned again shifting a little on the bed beside me.
"We have to warn them dammit! Let me up!" I went to sit up and his hand back handed me back against the bed.
"Just shut your mouth my little slut! You aren't warning them! It is too late for that! Shhhhhh" His hand moved over my mouth to stop the sobbing hiccups from escaping. My hands went to his, prying at his strong hold over my mouth and nose. I could not breath! My fingers made claws and dug into his flesh as I struggled with every thing I had to get free.
"Shhhhh.. Do not worry Erika.. I will be there for Aria after this is all over.. Mend her little heart... They won't kill her, for some strange reason.. The little betraying bitch cant die!" He barked out, his hand getting tighter and tighter on my face. I willed myself to calm down, I was dead anyways. If I concentrated I did not need air to breath to survive.
I saw his face come close to mine, bending down.. further down.. i could feel his breath brushing a few strands of hair over my forehead.
"Such a pity.. Such a waste.. If you had only remained the same my dear.." He did the oddest thing, his mouth opened showing his fangs, at first I thought he would bite me, suck the life from my body, but instead his tongue lapped from my jaw up to my hair line and over my temple. Disgusted I tried to fight him and bit hard into his hand.
Blood spurted everywhere and his eyes widened.
"BITCH!" Another back hand across the face sending my upper body almost to the floor over the other side of the bed. Heaving for air and strength, I felt his weight come over me and his hand thread into my hair.
"GET OFF ME! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEeeeee!" I cried out loudly ending in a whimper as the pain shot through my head and down my neck.
"I .. WILL. TEACH! YOU! Not to BITE!" each word he pronounced harder he jerked my head back further...
This was it.... I knew deep down I was going to die here.... i did not know why..I could not understand Ray's reasons.. who had ordered him to do this? Was he really a bad guy from the first day? I felt the bones snap in my neck, a sickening sensation that again shot pain up and down my spine. I whimpered, tears fell down my face. Splashing onto my hands and sheets, crimson drops that wounded my heart at this betrayal.
I felt the lights dim and the feelings of pain fading. I felt a little prick at the side of my neck, a pin prick really.. It didn't even hurt..
Breathing slowed.. I will miss Lance..... Heart stopping..... I never got to say good bye to Vladamir..

~*~*~*~*~

Ray moved off the dried corpse with a smug satisfied smile on his face. Wiping the last of the cunts blood from his lips. He took the sword and hacked off her head, watching as she dissipated into dust. And with her death the ring vanished from her hand. Sword in hand.. He knew he would be a target if he didn't escape.. He knew just where to go this time to hide.. New York City.

Scrambling to collect some of his things I took the first life boat he found, sent it down to the water and lowered himself onto it as the first sounds of battle reached his ears...

It came to Lance before anyone else. Perhaps it was that he felt more in tune with things, letting the wind pass by him, hearing it's whispers like children giggling over a joke that was only funny before one hit puberty.
Through this serene beauty his heart began to thump faster in his chest, a sense of urgency. For what? He looked around, unsure. As a vampire, he felt this all too often, preparing for battle.
No one threatened him, no one was even close to him. He didn't understand.
"The others..." a whisper, so soft he felt almost certain it was nothing more than a gust of wind.
It came again, louder this time, not in his ear, but his heart.
"The others, hurry."
Lance furrowed his brow, looking down at himself, "Erika?"
He didn't bother to answer any questions that came to him. In a moment, he turned himself around, going for the elevators.
Something was wrong, horribly wrong.
They had made a mistake.
He had made a mistaken.
The evelavator took too slow. He cursed it, just as the oors open, and he flung himself down the hall, to the final door. Bursting in, he got ouf of the chair, making an awkward run passed all of them, doing various things in the joined rooms.
Flying into the back room, he grabbed Aria from her sleep, holding her close to him.
"Wake up," he slapped her as hard as he could with his remaining strength, "Wake up if you want to live."
He forced her to pay attention to him.
"They are coming."
The door to the front entrance, the one he had just come through burst open, several men in black, wearing similiar clothing to those they had met earlier wore. The order of the page, ready to die for their cause.
Lance flung himself to the back wall, already searching for spells within the book to help him...
"They must not get the book."
He shivered with fear, a new and horribly emotion to him.

Aria

I jerked awake suddenly by the stinging slap on my face.
"Wake up! Wake up if you want to live!" His words whispered harshly over my ears as I jerked upright.
"They're here..." I didnt hear all of it as the door burst inwards.
"SHIT!" Lance jumped up and hit the wall, doing who knew what, I moved as quickly as I could and stood before him.
"They must not get the book!" The only thought in my mind as several advanced on me.
"Good lord. now what lance?" I trembled a little, badly out numbered.
"JOSEPH!" I cried out in warning, hearing more doors burst open.

Aria

They had them. Dozens of men clammering about, all of them in black outfits, moving with speed and percision. Two for every opponent, standing in front of them. Lance closed his eyes, understanding the spell before him now.
Obliterate them all, and leave his friends, hopefully.
"Ortaun, caularin..."
He held out his hand, as the light began to dim within the quarters. A spark of something held within his hand, as he pushed it out to all who were in the room.
It wouldn't hurt his friends...
He hoped.
"MONTA!!!!"
The light exploded. At once, the men, who had been fighting blow for blow against all those protecting him in the room, turned to dust, falling at once to the floor. The doors, which had been torn open, now closed shut, and something other than locks protected them from whatever had been prowling outside.
Lance lowered himsefl to the bed, unable to do much else.
"WE don't have much time," he said, looking at them, fear swirling about in his eyes, "There will be more, stronger. Aria, I need the page. He only wants the page, everything else is expendable. Please..."
He had been so weak, strength failing him. The spell had taken a lot, and black spots began to appear at the corner of his eyes.
In the hallway, men began pounding on the doors.

Aria

Coughing as ash floated around us in the room, I heard lance's words and whipped around.
"The page?" I fumbled to think, fear eating at me a little at what he had just done! Shocked more so than anything else, his urgency sunk into my brain.
"YES! The page! Sorry!" I jumped over an upturned chair and barged into my room. My heart hammered in my breast as I located my little blue suitcase. With trembling hands I fought to get it open, shit was tossed everywhere to find it.
"I GOT IT!" I called out, clutching the parchment in my hand as I grabbed my daggers and ran back.
Nearly tripping over the damned chair, I hopped onto the bed and literally shoved it at him. I could hear the banging, "Michael! Hide sweetie!" I glanced around and found the closet. Quickly taking his hand, I pushed him inside and shut the door. Locking it quickly I stood ready for the door to cave in.
"D-do something Lance.. Shit! Maggie?" I glanced over at maggie who stood waiting, Joseph just behind her as well stood with his sword raised.
"Ray?! Where are you?! We need you and Erika!" My mind cried out, hoping he was listening. We needed all the help we could get...

A darkness swirled about the door, something menacing that took the breath away from Lance. He ducked, just as the entire front wall exploded, sending shards of debris falling about the entire cabin.
A rumbling erupted below them, but stopped just as suddenly as it began, and in the emerging dust stood another dozen of the black minions, page seekers.
Behind them, stood a man as timeless as Lance himself. His arms folded over his chest, the eyes, purple, if anyone had the guts to look at them close enough, with sparks dancing around inside.
He wore dark clothing as well, but his was nothing more than a robe, shifting around as he walked.
Each of the seekers began to attack whoever stood standing, their faces contorted with a thirst for death and destruction.
Lance lay on the bed, clutching the page close to him, he tugged it beneath his shirt, screaming once as a wave of pain came through him.
His mind searched the pages inside him for another spell, something he could use, anything.
"Oh, all of this is unnecessary," the man said, walking into the room, fighting continued, but the way the man stood, both proud and demuring, he took notice, even in the middle of a war.
"I just want the book, this can all be avoided, needless bloodshed. Please don't make it harder than it has to be."
His eyes scanned each one to find which had been the book binder. They twinked when they came to rest at the lump on the bed in the back.

Aria

I battled off those who came to near to me and Lance, but there was little I could do. This ring leader stepped forward, speaking as his eyes scanned the room. I knew when they landed on Lance and growled low in warning. I stood waiting for a chance at the old man, I'd love to take him out personally.
I twisted and swung, beheading a minion that came at me from the side. I twisted back, Maggie and Joseph both battling off their attackers but losing ground as was I.
I had no idea what to do now?

"Oh please," Mongrel's words echoed his own boredom for the entire thing. To be honest, these pathetic creatures never knew when to give up, didn't they.
He walked over to one fo the women, fighting for dear life. His hand reached out to touch her head, and as he did, she turned to dust before them. A ring fell to the ground and bounced once...
It never bounced a second time.
He went to the next man, this time not bothering to touch him. His hand stood out before the fight, and waved it back and forth, as it did, everyone where his hand had pointed burst into flames, screaming and crying to whatever God they thought could save them.
A smile came to Mongrel's lips.
He turned back to those left. The rest of his minions had stopped fighting, now turning to stand behind him, battered and bloody, ready for their next chance to serve their master.
He stared at the woman, and crumpled heap of a man behind her.
"You can live," he said, almost sympathetic tone in his voice, "I'll let you live, just back away."
From the look in her eyes he knew she would refuse, but at this point he didn't care. Taking her out would be almost a blessing. Aria, that damned woman. She had stood in his way long enough. He would finish her, this time, the last time.
In front of her, he unsheathed a nice long blade, the glint off of it showed how sharp it really was.
"As always, my dear," the words like venom in the room, "You have a choice."

Aria

I watched in horror as Maggie was turned to ask and gone and then the next second the horrible screams of Joseph ripped through the air. Tensing tightly, It took all my control not to scream out in rage and lunge for his throat!
"You sick bastard!" I watched as he drew his sword, "Aaaaah, going to battle me then? No cheating to win?" I growled in anger, wanting so badly to stuff my daggers into his cold black heart.
"You have to kill me to get to Lance, and that won't be as easy.." My eyes narrowed as I waited for his assualt.

Mongrel sighed, knowing what she would do before she actually did it. She was nothing, if not predictable. It had become a bore to watch her, in the beginning she showed so much potential, but as time wore on.
Just like all the rest.
Predictable.
"Not quite, my dear," his hand came out, a small explosion of wood as the closet came open, and the child emerged. He moved to Mongrel, as if by some unseen force, the child caught between crying and screaming.
He let the blade come to rest at the tip of the child's neck.
"I believe you've been in this situation before, my dear. Your son's life held on the line, isn't that true Willow?"
In the back, one of the page seekers took off his mask, revealing the blonde straight hair and piercing blue eyes of Willow. He looked almost with sorrow upon the whole scene.
"Yes," his voice solemn, not looking to meet any of the last player's eyes.
"My dear, I never wanted to fight you," he let the blade come across the boy's neck, as he fell forward, blood gushing from his neck to the ground.
He nodded, as Willow and another seeker went to Aria, grabbing both of her arms.
"You should have left."

Aria

I did not know what happened first. The scream of rage unlike anything I heard before, The ripping free from their holding arms? The blood that fell down both arms as I turned and buried a dagger into one and at the same time turning for that ONE asshole who was responcible.
"You will die!" I lunged for him, At the same time the sword was lifted. It sliced like hot butter but did not stop my momentum. I came against him, fangs bared and dagger raised.
Smiling as blood poured from my lips I asked as calmly and as dead as could be, "where would you like it first?" Lifting up, I felt hands grab me to yank me back, my dagger missing its mark on his throat as I was throw backwards by something. I lay there panting, watching the blood seep into my clothing from the gaping hole in my body.
No, I was not done yet! I struggled to get to my feet, someone was chuckling but I did not care. I had one thing in sight, one person to kill for this pain....

Mongrel moved before anyone else, watching as she struggled, even after all that. A woman after his own heart, she had courage, something he always gave her credit for.
He moved, a resourceful eagerness, letting his sword sink deep into her chest, watching as it came right into the hilt, blood flowing freely from her.
He made her look into his eyes, watching them lose consciousness.
"I am your god," he whispered, smiling as he said it, "There was nothing you could do, die a happy woman, knowing you tried. However pathetic the attempt was, you tried."
He let her fall, the sword still stuck deep inside, the fatal blow driving the life from her.
"Lance, my old friend, how are we tonight."
Lance moved, a single attempt to flee, but it came as a grunt and shift in weight, nothing more. He tried to look out, but couldn't. No longer searching for a spell to help, he had found one, but not the strength to use it.
Mongrel knelt beside him, grabbing the hand with the mark.
"You should have waited," he held his own hand up to Lance's. Closing his eyes, he summoned a few whispered words, as something shifted between them. Inside the hand, magic began to swirl.
A deep tugging feeling came throughout him. Something big, moving inside him, ripping itself from the spot it found so comfortable. The very essence of the book leaving, travelling from his soul, to the corrupted man's own.
The mark left him, only olive clean skin remained. Mongrel now had the sign, and the power that came with it.
The book was no longer being cleaned, so it did not hurt Mongrel as it did Lance. Instead, it accented his already godlike powers.
"The page," Mongrel felt inside. The book was still missing the page. They had never reattached it. He growled, more delays.
He looked down at Lance, still broken and beaten at his feet.
Lance looked up, smiling. The final spell, the one he had gotten before the book left him, on the tip of his tongue.
Transportation spell.
"Fuck you," Lance took out the page, and placed his hand on it, "freidum arura plantantar."
In a huge swirl of brilliant light, he left.
Mongrel took one look at it, his eyes growing wide in his skull. He screamed, long and hard, the anger and paing revelling in all corners of the ship.
It had slipped through his fingers once more.

Aria

I struggled to breath, my breathing no longer even moving my chest, my eyes opened partially as i chuckled what little air I had left out of my lungs.
"You............." I could barely see or think as things were getting fainter and darker around me. "............l...........losssssst..." I was dying, within seconds I would be with my son, i could feel him reaching for me. I smiled as I slumped lower against the wall.
"Almost there baby.. momma's comin'..." I slipped further and further away. And suddenly there was nothing.

Mongrel growled, looking back at the scene before him. No one left, no one linked back with the page, or the book.
Aria.
His eyes looked at her, blood coming from several places, beside the fatal wound still clutching her heart.
He knelt before her, in a hurry, his robe wafting about him as he did.
The knife came out, a sickening pop, blood and something else, something far blacker oozing out. He put his hand to it.
She was gone.
He called to her.
"Not yet, I still need you," the wound, healing, special magic the book provided him. He closed his eyes, covering the death that almost claimed her.
"Come on back," he put his mouth to hers, kissing her, breathing into her his own tainted life. He needed her, someone with the ring, someone who could help him find that last page.
She opened her eyes, looking at him. He watched as the wicked magic transformed those cool and calm eyes, red swirling in them. They turned full red.
Willow watched from a distance, looking from Aria, and then back to Mongrel, right on top of her.
Those red eyes, souless. Her soul was gone. Trapped somewhere in limbo, not the entire truth, but for lack of a better explanation, it clung to both the real world and the afterworld.
Now, she was nothing more than a husk of herself.
Mongrel placed his thumb on her forehead, marking her as his own slave.
He smiled, helping her up.
"My precious," he smiled at his new companion, "I believe I will call you Ariana. A delightfully evil one, you are. I knew you had potential, I simply knew it."

Conclusion

Or so it may seem...

With all the family but Ray dead, Lance hidden and Aria no longer alive.. What will happen next to these Fallen Family members? What family? There is none now. But there is a quest to complete.....

End of Chapter two.

What the? God fucking damnit.

Why does this always happen when I'm not looking?

And where the Hell is Joseph, anyway?

Is it me, or was the last four pages of your character simply playing with a young child. You know, there are laws against that.
If you truly want to keep going with whatever in the heck you were trying to go for, I urge you to do so. In fact, I would be delighted if you continue this on your own GM. Have Joseph and Michael go off on their own adventures, maybe they could solve crime, or visit haunted mansions in a van, or time travel back to save the world from evil dinosaurs.
There was no point in continuing on, no one was doing anything, and there wasn't much else to do in the first place. It would have either come down to Sweet P making a really long (but in a way, a really short) ending where everything turns out ok, or we just kill everyone, and life goes on.

The adventures of Joseph and Michael....
Oh, I'd like to see that. Send me a link when you get it rolling.

Hmmm,.....Time-Traveling Big Game Hunters. Personally, that was always my favorite reason the dinosaurs died off.

But really, Joe and Mike?

"In a future riddled by war against vampires, two figures stand above the rest, working to overpower the weak human leadership and spread the ashes of the decaying human species as Vampires come to rule the world,....before they die off from having killed their source of food."
