Written in the Stars

"Yes, they are nessesary. We don't have time to get the horses ready and it will be easier to run in pants where we are going." He opens up the secret passage and enters it to grab a couple of swords and some daggers for them and finds some female chain armor for her if she wants to wear it.

He comes out of the secret passage and notices she is changing and he turns his back to her so he doesn't make her feel uncomfortable. "I wound some chain armor for you to wear if you want to use it."

She pulls on one of his shirts and a pair of breeches which look suspiciously like they were made for a woman, probably the Queen Staral. She had met the beautiful woman on many occasions and remembered her grace and kindness to her. Nodding to Travis she accepts the chain armor and dons it easily as though it is nothing new to her and straps a sword to her side. She quickly pulls her hair up into a quick bun and pulls on a cap over it to hide it.

"Im almost ready wait."

She grabs a pack and stuffs some extra clothes and a blanket into it then she follows him away from the worst danger comming thier way.

After she is ready he leads her through the secret passage and then to the falls where the hot springs are at. Moving past it quickly he pulls a small lever and then a small door opens in the cave. He moves inside the door first and then lets her follow him and then he shuts the door. "This passage will lead us out of this cave and deep into the forest, it is the haunted forest where they say noone comes out of but it is our only chance to escape."

In the distance, she can hear shouts and clashes of swords as Travis army marches to their doom, taking on the Dark Lands army.

She is suprised to find the passage there he had not shown her this one before but now she understands why. Tales are spun even in her lands about the haunted wood. There is supposedly a lake at its center and on the lake is an island that is never in the same place from one day to the next. On the island is a huge castle and inside is a great treasure. Noone who ever seeked this out came back to say if it were true or not.

"It is better then dying here. But what of your men? She looks concerned and frightened for them. Have they no hope of beating back the dark land people?"

"My men are going to fight their best against the Dark Lands but noone has ever defeated them and my men know they are going to die but they are giving us time to get out of there. By now, my tower and the land it is on belongs to the Dark Lands now and I am sure your castle belongs to it as well." After they make it out of the cave they are in the haunted woods, even with their spell on the place is very dark and mysterious looking.

Here and there, there is dead bodies laying around, some still new and some decayed. Haunting sounds come from all around them, Travis draws his sword out and stands ready as he scans around them. "Let head for the Island that is suppose to be in the middle of the Lake, I feel we will find something there that may help us out."

"Im sure my step-mother made a deal with the devil behind the darklands himself. Evil simply radiated from the man."

As they emerge into the haunted wood the stench of death nearly overwealms them. Closing her eyes a moment Arora asks the gods for help getting through this and to help Travis men survive.

"But you know all who go there have never returned. Anyways I dont care about treasure. I just want this madness to stop. I want my father back. I want to see if my brother is going to be ok. I want my step mother to pay for what shes done."

It seems suddenly as if the ground has been moving on its own and they appear standing next to the lake. A boat with oars sits waiting in the water. A white mist drifts over the entire lake but in the distance they see white spires of a large castle.

"Lets head over to those spires over there." He helps her down into the boat and he pushes it into the water and then jumps into the boat himself, facing to her he begins to row towards the spires that seem to reach into the heavens themself. As they get closer towards the spires everything around them is getting quiter and quiter, not even birds make a sound in this part of the area.

They finally reach the island where the talked about castle is at, but all that is there is 4 spires and a platform in the center. He helps her out of the boat and looks around. "The castle doesn't seem to be here, maybe those rumors everyone talked about are false." He walks around and he looks back over towards her and notices she is slowly disappearing, when she is gone he runs towards where she was at. He makes it to the center of the platform and begins to disappear himself and when he reappears his jaw drops open at what he sees.

The silence is eerie as they reach the platform with four spires. At the center is a rose symbol. Not the exact same as Travis's symbol but close. Behind the rose is two circles linked together similar to the one behind the star of her familys crest. Travis is saying something but she barely hears him as she walks cautiously closer to study the beautiful emblem. Suddenly her body feels light as air and she feels herself being lifted up.

When her vision clears she sees a wonderous site. All around her is bright blue and above her is a darker blue. Brilliant white clouds form a bridge shape leading out quite a distance to the biggest palace shes ever laid eyes on. Sunlight sparkles off the hundreds of windows like gems. Its an illusion on the light but many could be fooled by it. There seems to be several dozen towers around the light grey stone walls.

Beside her Travis gasps as his vision clears and he views the same sight. Glancing wearily at the clouds she sticks her foot forward and presses it against the cloud bridge finding the cloud oddly firm.

He watches Arora walk closer and closer to this palace... he starts to say something he finds himself walking towards this place as well. Not realizing that he is steping on the clouds himself. He finally gets up to the doors of this palace and then grabs ahold of Arora's arm. "We need to be...." Before he gets another word out the large doors swing open to let them inside.

When his eyes adjust to the darkness a moment, it is like someone cast a holy light inside this place. Everything is decorated in gold trimmings and the floor has red carpet upon it. Their reflection can be seen in the floor, he looks around in awe but he looks up the stairs and begins to walk up towards them, feeling something pull him in that direction...

she stops in front of the huge double doors of the castle unable to shake the feeling that she is supposed to be here. Travis startles her grabbing her elbow gently.

"We need to be...."

They both watch the huge doors suddenly open with no apparent force behind them. Arora peers into the place seeing noone around. The celing is vaulted quite high in this main room. At least 30 feet up and before them are stairs winding up to an upper level balcony and a hall. Travis begins walking towards the stairs and she follows. Her leather boots making no sound on the smooth marble surface of the floor.

The steps seem like they go on forever up, finally reaching the top of the stairs he heads to the only door on the top level and opens it. Inside is a great library, books never seen before in the land they know of, books that have collected dust what seems over centuries old, in the middle of the room is a statue that seems to be holding a great sword. On the sword seems to hold a rose with 2 circles and Arora's family crest upon it. Travis walks over to the sword which seems to becond him onwards to it.

He reaches the sword and studies it closely for a moment, he reaches out and touches it gently and a shock of enery sends him flying backwards into the wall and the force is so great that it knocks him out and a trail of blood slides down the wall from where his head hit.

Entering a huge library with strangely marked books dusty with age she stands back slightly as Travis walks to the statue of a warrior holding a huge sword. The warrior is stone but the sword looks real. He reaches out to touch it and she yells out.

"No Travis wait!"

But it is to late and he is sent flying into a marble wall blood trickling down the wall and from the back of his head. With an angry glare at the statue she rushes over to his side.

"Milord!? Are you ok sir? Your higness?"

He doesn't respond to her yelling at him, he is knocked out at the moment. He is trying to open his eyes and move but for some reason he is unable to. A voice in Arora head speaks "He will be ok young one but I'll give you the strength to help him to a room and you need to treat his wounds. He will wake up in a couple of days and be good as new." The voice disappears from her head but she feels this incrediable strength come over her.

The voice startles her and she looks around trying to find its source but sees noone is around. As the voice fades she feels her strength increase greatly.

"Ok but...we mean no harm here."

Shes not sure if anyone hears but she felt the need to say it. Picking Travis up easily in her arms she carries him towards a door in the back of the library. Past the door as she suspected is a hallway with many doors. One particular door draws her to it. On it is a gold rose. Stepping inside she looks around at what must be the master bedroom.

Huge tapestrys drape over the walls and a blue velvet curtain covers the balcony entrance. The carpet is thick and soft to walk upon and at the center of the huge room is a four poster bed with curtains to pull around it for privacy. Walking to the bed she lays Travis down on it and then looks around for a bowl and some water and rags.

Off the room is a private bath with a pump and a large basin full of warm water. White cloths are sitting beside the sink along with some herbs used to heal wounds. Its as if they were expected to use this room but by whom Arora can only wonder.

Carrying the bowl and other items to the bed she begins to undress Travis. Her great strength causing her to easily rip off his shirt. Making an odd face she goes about very gently washing his bloodied head and wrapping the wounds with the healing herbs. then she washes the dust of travel from his chest and arms. His chest is well muscled she notes to herself but then she pulls the blankets around him and brings everything back into the bathing room before sitting down on a chair beside the bed.

He lays there peacefully for at least an hour or so, the look on his face is a pleasant one after she treated his wounds. His eyes slowly open up for a moment before they close again and instead of passing out he falls asleep and falls into a deep sleep. Couple of hours later he sits up in the bed and looks over to where Arora is at and notices she is asleep. He gets out of the bed and he moves over to where she is at, he picks her up gently and then lays her down into the bed gently. He watches her for an hour or so.

He then moves on over to the balcony doors and swings them wide open to let the cool breeze into the room and steps on out, it is still nighttime in this place and he looks out over the clouds and stares at the stars. His hair blows softly in the wind.

Watching him sleeping easily she finally lets herself drift to sleep. Shes so exhausted from the whole ordeal that even the idea of being in danger cant reach her mind. She sleeps for a couple hours waking somewhat refreshed and looks towards the bed. Not seeing him there she shoots up out of the chair nearly tripping over her boots. She catches a pant leg on the step up to the bed and tears it before hopping out onto the marble and falling at the balcony entrance with a soft thud. She blushes as he turns around and looks at her.

"uh... there you are..."

He cannot help but chuckle a bit when she falls with a thud at his feet. He reaches down to her and helps her back up to her feet but he cannot help himself but look at her smooth creamy leg for a moment. He blushes a bit himself and feels a bit aroused by it. He helps to support her weight on him, hoping she is ok. "Is your leg ok m'lady, did you hurt it when you fell?"

She is pulled to her feet but she stumbles a bit and winces.

"Im ok but i think i twisted my ankle."

She laughs a bit feeling the sudden sexual tension in the room.

"Hows your head?"

"My head is ok, I believe the injury is about healed now." He helps her over to the bed and helps her to lay down upon the soft sheets of the bed. He places his hands gently upon her ankle and begins to massage her leg softly. "Does it hurt here?"

She lays back on the soft cushions and she smiles at him. She watches as he massages her foot. He presses a tender spot and she makes a face.

"Well like I said my ankle hurts but its not broken or anything."

She wiggles her toes a bit and laughs. One entire smooth leg is exposed to him up to her waist nearly. She can hardly take her eyes off his huge muscled chest.

He enjoys touching her sexy leg, he massages her ankle for a moment but then moves back up to her thighs and then back down gently. He is getting turned on from touching her leg. "I hope your leg will be ok, I don't want anything to happen to you." He moves his massage back up to her thigh and his hands linger gently upon her smooth thigh.

"You dont want anything to happen to me?"

She leans forward brazenly and kisses him gently on the lips.

"I dont want anything to happen to you either."

She hugs him tightly to her body. Her heart beating wildly for him suddenly. It feels right to hold him close. She hopes he is not offended by her behavior.

He feels her soft lips kiss his for a moment and he returns her kiss gently. Enjoying her arms around him, he falls beside her on the bed and snuggles into her and holds her tightly into his warm embrace. "As long as you are with me, nothing shall harm you." He strokes his fingers through her hair softly and kisses her passionately on the lips.

Her lips meet his eagerly and passionatly but a thought nags at her mind and she breaks the kiss softly.

"We need to figure out where we are now and what to do. My brother is still in danger somewhere. And well.."

She leans forward and rubs her ankle gently trying to make it feel better.

"Its not everyday you find yourself in a castle in the clouds Milord Travis."

She is begining to fall for him but before they make love she wants to be certain they will be married one day.
