Persecution, hatred. A thing so common in the world, over so many issues. Throughout time, people have strived to find a peace among the population, but it seems an impossible thing.

There is always hate.
There is always distrust.
But there is always hope as well.

Xavier's School used to be a place of such hope. Things changed, as the world around it changed as well... but the Hope still remained, buried in those who knew what the School had stood for.

Though the school was destroyed, the idea is still alive and well. A new team is in development, slowly but surely. Currently keeping a base of operations at the newly rebuilt dormitories of Xavier's School, this newly forming team is striving to keep that dream alive... without killing each other in the process.

I'm greatly open to original characters, and appreciate detailed profiles, but do not godmode or become ultramegaamazingman.
I give full permission to anyone who notices this to bring such a character down about 70 pegs. A good character has weaknesses, and realizes that (though mutant) they are still human in some ways.

Ending the growly-grr-angryface part now.

Let's GO!

Name: Risa Quentin
Alias: Toybox
Age: 23
Appearance: See here.
Abilities: Animation of Inanimate Objects. She finds it easiest to interact with toys- smaller objects are easier to maintain. They tend to take personalities of their own, and will continue to move about without her around. The "residuals" last for awhile, unless she completely cancels it herself.
Greatest weakness: Her items are toys. Easily destroyed.

Personality/Bio:
Risa's parents believed their daughter had an imaginary friend. Not really a big deal, except it seemed to continue even into her teens. A little stuffed koala has always been at her side, a bear she's deemed Kuula. Not many other people knew that this bear was more than just a stuffed toy... It talked. A lot. And as Risa grew, so did Kuula's mouth.

Because of her ability, she tends to surround herself with lots of toys. She tends to carry a little box, her basic "ammunition". She can animate other objects, but size is a key factor. The larger the object, the harder the time she has in bringing it to life- and keeping it from going insane on her.

She tends to be a rather happy thing, though a bit naive. Kuula has to explain things to her quite a bit.

(Just a note to those who've PM'ed.... I am not ignoring, I will reply this afternoon. I just want to give headsup that the basics of the thread are being revamped- The school is not going to be the high focus. Currently working out the new idea with a few folk.)

No problem.

Also, if you need her to be evil.. she can still be evil. ^^"

its beginning to look like we'll be short on good guys
*lol*

Oh, I shit you not, my idea was almost identical to this!
Some notes:
Anima
Can move her mind, as much or as little, as she wants into inanimate
objects and animate them. The extent of this is unknown and she
thinks she's hiding it from X. It's unclear if she can control
anything conscious.
Her PK allows her to make otherwise unbending things move.
Diff materials give diff sensations and perceptions.

Q. How much can she change the object? Shape shift?

Q. Why only Bio shaped things?
A. Archetype buried deep in mind will only allow her to identify

Q. Mind control? What about if they are unconscious or otherwise not
controlling?

Q. Why hiding from X? Is she sculpting? Having someone else?

Simple small things she can be in herself and the other. Bigger
things require all of her

Toybox just touches and gives them mentality of their own. The only connection her items have to her is workingcwith her around.... they arent a part of her. Sounds like yours is a sort of astral/spirit share thing?

Its definitely much more of a 'possession', she's definitely 'inside' the thing. The bigger and more complex, the more of her goes in...a paper doll, she can be in her head and the doll at the same time, animating both. A human sized thing (like a statue or mannequin) would require her consciousness to completely leave her body

Name: Callie Owens
Alias: Shadow Star
Age: 19
Appearance:http://www.freeimagehosting.net/ejumd
Abilities: Shadow Manipulation - Able to create objects from any shadow, Green-lantern style, and hold the shape for up to two minutes.
Weakness: Inability to feel pain - She was born with her nervous system incomplete, robbing her of pain sensation. She can also lose control when extremely angry.

Personality\Bio: Most would call her the quiet shy, borderline shy. She is friendly to most people, but she doesn't go out of her way to make acquaintances. She does have a bit of a temper, but she does her best to keep it under control at all times.

Despite her absence of pain, she didn't let it stop her from enjoying life, playing sports like soccer when she was in middle school and high school. Her mother was killed in a car accident when she was young, so her father ended up raising her. She became more of a tomboy growing up, finding it more to her liking than acting like a true girly-girl.

Her affinity towards shadows began as a kid, mostly shadow-playing with shadow puppets. Her ability didn't manifest itself until her junior year of high school. One night after a soccer game, a pair of hoodlums tried to accost her for some money. She ended up in a fight, her anger getting the best of her. In reaction, a pair of shadow blades shot from the ground, missing the two guys by inches. They were scared off, but it left her scared as well.

Her father found out about her ability during a verbal fight with her, prompting him to find some way to get her help. She ended up being enrolled in the school by him.

Are we allowed to put out bio's up? o_O

Also, Shadow Star is asian. Changing my bio just a bit. ;-;" Sorry Lil's, same idea; just different name, look etc.

**note: Have no problems with Asians, but my character was going to be Asian.. don't need that many. heh heh. ^^"**

Well, Meph said she looks just fine. If I went ahead too quickly, my bad.

Oh don't take it as a blame. ^-^
I was just unsure if I should post mine or not. Mind you, I'll have to tweak some of it because coincidentally, we (sort of?) have the same character! lol!

Haha, I guess we were thinking somewhat alike in terms of our characters. Never expected that to happen. :p

I guess it's okay to put up?

Name: Denby Rénon- Moore
Alias: Daelyth
Age: 18
Appearance: Usual Attire.
Abilities: Blood control. Denby cuts herself with a spring-loaded knife ring, using the blood drawn to create sharp objects ( needles, spikes, swords, anything with a pointed edge). She can also create an alternate "room", with walls dripping of blood and use that to murder her prey. Denby possesses speed healing, but depending on the severity of her injury, this alters her healing times. *Note: Every time Denby cuts herself, a black scar shows up on her body, this never goes away*.

Greatest Weakness: Blood. Like a vampire, she must drink to replenish her strength. Once the blood has been used as a weapon, she cannot retract the blood expelled back into her body. She often carries a self-cooling briefcase filled with blood packages, in case of emergencies. Denby also burns easily in the sun and loses her sight if in the daylight for more than 30 minutes to an hour.

Personality/Bio:
Denby's a shy, quiet girl who often keeps to herself and tries to stay out of people's way. Born to a prosper family (Mother a lawyer, Father an Accountant), Denby attended an all-girl's private academy to focus on becoming a doctor. (Something she still wishes to achieve).

Shortly after attending the academy, Denby began noticing changes about herself. Her skin began to burn after being in the sun, and her eyes began to blur. After visiting a doctor, no one could understand the transformation that was happening to her, until...the accident.

A doctor took a blood sample from Denby to rule out any blood-related diseases. All it took was one small prick before the needle shattered and that one small blood drop became a needle itself, blinding the poor doctor. She didn't mean to..it was an accident.

But an accident that changed her fate forever. " Mutant!" They screamed at her, eventually shaking the small, french community. She was an outcast, not even allowed to attend the academy. Her parents, still loving their daughter; were in fear of her new found power. A power she could not control. She shed her good-girl persona, taking on a darker edge, stealing from those who shunned her at first, filling up on their blood to replenish. But her inner self knew this was wrong...she needed help.

Help.. from the ones known as "X-men.."

Finally got an idea together. Will have her (Shift or Drift, haven't decided yet) up this weekend (mostly I'm just looking for an image I like)

Real Name: Paul Sentwali
Alias/Nick: Kesho (Translates to "Tomorrow")
Age: 28
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 198 lbs/89.81 kgs
Hair: Bald
Eyes: Black
Place of Birth: Kigali, Rwanda, Africa
Relatives: None living.
Appearance: http://forum.literotica.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1131820&stc=1&d=1337386840

Abilities: Paul has the ability to project an almost bubble-like forcefield around himself up to 10 feet in any direction. When focusing on it's creation and maintaining it's integrity, the field is nearly impenetrable by all but the most powerful of attacks. If his concentration falters or the attacks come from too many sides, however, the integrity of the field may begin to falter, and the field will collapse. Paul also seems to possess some limited healing power, including the strange ability to control or even stop the flow of blood to a wound and speed up the recreation of cells in a wounded area. Thus far he has been unable to use his ability to heal while creating the forcefield around himself and/or others. Also, whether through his own moral subconscious or the limit of his powers, he is unable to control blood flow or cell creation in any area that is not wounded or damaged in some way.

Skills/Weapons/Other: Fluent in both English and Kinyarwanda, and at a conversational level in French. Paul also is learning more about the practice of medicine, although only from what he reads in books and the things he saw, and healed, in Rwanda, as he has yet to have any formal training.

He does not carry any weapons, and is not a very skilled fighter.

Weaknesses: Paul has the normal weaknesses of any other human male.

Physical Description: The first thing anyone notices about Paul Sentwali is the scars on his face, which are constant reminders of a brutal and broken past. His body is well-shaped, the result more of his past life than any real workout regime. He is generally quiet, which takes most people by surprise, and can have a tendency to blend easily into the background.

Personality: Paul is soft spoken and reserved, preferring to observe the events around him instead of taking part. He is a quick learner, and spends much of his time alone, reading. He is kind and has a good sense of humor, although laughter has been rare for him since the genocide. He will also gladly help anyone in need, but does not trust easily, a result of seeing his family killed by people they once called friends.

History: For a Tutsi living in Rwanda in 1994, living was the hardest thing possible. While the other nations of the world turned their backs on the small African nation, the Hutu tribe systematically wiped out nearly 1,000,000 members of the Tutsi tribe in the most clear act of genocide since the Holocaust. Up until this time, Paul Sentwali's life had been much like that of any other Rwandans, busy with the routine of daily life, and far removed from the politics of being either mutant, or Tutsi. Until then, he was unaware of his mutant genes, and being Tutsi meant little of consequence. That year, everything changed.

It was during the genocide, when the Hutu genocidaires to Paul's village to exterminate his friends and family, that the mutated genes that had lain dormant in his blood finally came to life. When the hiding place his family had used was discovered by the genocidaires, he watched in muted horror as they were killed before his eyes. When the guns were then turned on him, his mutation reacted and their bullets were rendered useless. All men stared at each other in shock, unsure of the next move, until the head of the genocidaires moved in with his machete, hitting the reeling Paul three times. It was only when the others panicked and fled, thinking Paul some kind of spirit or witch doctor, that the final attacker left as well, leaving Paul cut and bleeding. It was there, as he lay on the dirt floor of the hut, bleeding freely from his wounds and willing the blood to stop, that he learned of his ability to heal.

Whispers of Paul and his abilities began to move through Rwanda, in both Hutu and Tutsi circles, and the reactions from both were predictably quite different. Hutus hated him and wanted him dead. Tutsis thought him a hero, perhaps their savior, and certainly made him a legend. Many of the stories Tutsis, in both Rwanda and Uganda, told their children were little more than fairy tales, stories blown far out of proportion as they were passed from person to person, like a message in a game of telephone. Some, however, like the story of Paul rescuing a group of school girls the genocidaires were poised to kill, had more truth to them than others.

For Paul, however, all he wanted was to be a normal Rwandan, living a quiet, peaceful life. Unfortunately, that life would not be his in Rwanda. Tutsis had already become outcasts, and as the fear of mutants slowly spread around the world, Paul became an outcast among outcasts. Even when the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) moved into Rwanda and started to push back the genocidaires, Paul still found himself an outcast. It was not long until he fled his home country for the United States, and right into the waiting arms of the mutant controversy.

It was not long before Paul was recognized for what he was, despite his best efforts. Unwilling, and perhaps because of his past horrors, unable to truly join in the battle, Paul began to make his way to New York and seek out the man he'd heard that helped mutants such as himself, Charles Xavier. Perhaps then, he would finally find the peace he had been seeking for so long.

Name: Johnny Haggar
Alias: Ravish
Age: 18
Appearance: Ravish is 5'11", 190 lb. He's got brown hair that sits in a mess around his ears, and an embarrassed smile. He tens to wear an open shirts, allowing him access to his powers, and yellow and black uniform pants.
Abilities: Pheromone control and empathy. Ravish is a mid-level psychic, able to read and manipulate the emotions of others he talks too. He can only handle one person at a time, and he can't trigger powerful emotions on the anger spectrum.
His cells also can produce chemicals without him thinking about it that permeate the air, causing the victim's nerves to give physical reactions.
Greatest weakness: Rage or hatred can blind his empathy, and cause him to be unable to read those around him. His powers also don't have lasting effects, the worst usually dissipating in five hours.
Ravish also is unable to trust anyone whom befriends him, being unable to tell if they care, or if he psychicly persuades them to care.
Personality/Bio: Ravish was a young boy in New York at the age of ten when he learned of his powers. He found this by finding his parents unable to not give him what he wanted, even if he didn't say so. This lead him to create mischief, and eventually to end up helping other kids do the same.
It wasn't till he took things to far that he found himself kidnapped by the brotherhood, and recruited into helping them. He was eventually stopped and was dropped off at the school, with an ankle monitor.
He's been at the school since then, learning all he can about being with the group, but has never stepped foot outside the school since he was brought there.
He's shy, and tends to not want to talk until he gets to know you, then he brags and boasts like any teenage boy.

Oh wow. Looks like I too am a victim of having the same Idea as someone else. pain if you would could we discuss, perhaps talking. as I have a very similar idea in character to yours. And do not want to do that, but the powers I have are sort of plot integral, so I don't want to start over.

Well, the saying is that great minds think alike, but I wouldn't call mine great. Ah well.

I like this thread and I must complement all of you on your thought and detail with your characters. You have some incredible imaginations. Hopefully I will have a spark of inspiration and I will be able to contribute as well.
