Hey, just a quick note to Lit writers...if your stories are published on Lit, you might want to check out this thread...just to be sure.

It's a thread in the Author's Hangout about a website that has been stealing Lit stories and posting them on another web site. Check to see if yours have been taken, and if so, send a PM to Laurel. Well, the thread tells you all of this.

I got a message from Laurel that they are on the case, and have already had his advertisers pulled.

Well then, they know how to copy and paste.

They got no real content, and they didn't even change much, so it was only a matter of time until they were found out. But, I guess they did get advertising hits, in the mean time.

You know if they had any brains they'd just rename the stories. It'd be a lot harder to find them if you had to read through every story to see if you stories were stolen.

They even left in the name of the person who helped me edit on mine. He helps edit here, I'm not so sure he does anyplace else.

Well, it's obvious they weren't reading them, just copy and pasting 'em. Mine's word for word, but ends abruptly in the middle of the third chapter. I think the page ran out of room, and they didn't notice.

They posted chapters 1, 3 and 4 of my Baraka story and not chapter 2??? They were in a hurry maybe or aren't into feet spanking. I'm thinking they stole all the H's

No, I thought that, too. They did take some H rated chapters of mine, but not all of them. And, they took chapter #3 of "The Box", which is rated rather low by readers.

I don't understand why, every dhapter is wonderful...it's a wonderful story.
And, in my opinion, they didn't take some of the gems. But, who's to say they knew what they were doing? I think they just wanted words on a pqge, so people would go to the site. They had our stories (well, only the first page of most) and that attracted readers. Little did the readers know that the stories were incomplete. And the thieves didn't care.

Once the reader landed on the page, the money went "Kaching"...that gave them hits, so they could charge more for advertising. Even the advertisers were probably in the dark. It was a risk they were willing to take, I guess. They knew they would be found out eventually, but they got some bucks before that happened. People are strange, sometimes. And, weird, too.
