That's a bad habit I've gotten into recently, I look at the ratings and then decide whether to read a story or not. A lot of the stories turn out to be terrible even with high rating; jerk-off stories are usually the culprit of this.

I tend to check out comments more to see if the story is finished or just left and forgotten about by the author.

Yeah, I have same problem..usually anything below a 4 to 4.25 has issues and mistakes that take me out of the story...but not always though. I have some well written stories with very low scores....

My thinking is that there are probably quite a few really good stories out there that do have low ratings not because of problems with the story but because of trolls who give it a really low score just to be annoying. It would not take many trolls to take a story down from a 4.6 to a 4.3

Any story with a 4.0 and upwards score tends not to be bad imho.

I have one called Mama's boy you may like.

Its a bit dark as it features an alcoholic abusive father and a lot of the emotions that go with it.
