Yeah, I don't know. It was so gamey, caught last fall. I didn't ask for details.

Black bear can be good or really bad. We had a berry bear once and it was awesome meat. But, I have no reason to be out killing bears, now. Although, I will take the shotgun to the cabin this weekend, should one get too brave about the place.

Yeah, the only other bear meat I had was a berry bear and was quite good.

I planned to head that way to the drag races but don't know now with the heavy rain forecast. Stay dry! Take books!

I hear Lance Mackey is driving circle cars out at the race track, now. Must have some one else looking out for the pups in summer.

They say it's supposed to be a soaker. Take an umbrella.

I don't know...don't they not even race at all with a wet track? At least for drags, or top fuel? I saw the write up on Lance, quite a renassiance man.

Not with slicks. Stock cars are way to heavy to race in the rain. Even with rain tires.

A berry bear is a bear that eats berries I assume?.

Say that fast 10 times..

Did not realize black bears were such salmon eaters. Nor that they were that far north. I thought that after awhile grizzlies were the species of bear to be found.

I saw the post about the black bear lasagne. Just thought maybe you two had switched up discussion.

Griz that bad?

They served caribou meat at the Three Amigos dinner. 6 kilos fed 105 people. Plus probably oodles of appetizers and stuff.

Apparently a favourite of Obama's.

Beaver Tails

February 19, 2009, Barack Obama stopped at the ByWard Market on his way to the airport specifically to buy a BeaverTails pastry.

A variation on fried dough. Elephant Ears in the US. Touton in Newfoundland/Labrador were it is pan fried not deep fried.

Fried dough is made by deep-frying a portion of risen yeast dough. The dough acquires an irregular, bubbly appearance from being fried.

The dough may then be sprinkled with a variety of toppings, such as granulated sugar, powdered sugar, cinnamon, fruit sauce, chocolate sauce, cheese, maple syrup, whipped cream, tomato sauce, garlic butter, lemon juice, honey, butter, nuts, or a combination of these.

So much nom nom right there.
