Yeah, it's a good one. The drop on the first hill is basically vertical. You are sure you will flip over. Much scarier, I thought, than going upside down.

There's another one there too, that doesn't have a power hill, but uses mag-lev technology. The acceleration coming out of the gate is AMAZING!

Oh I am so jealous! I've always wanted to go to Universal! Especially since they opened the Harry Potter area. My son would love to do that! But, I hear it is extremely expensive.

We've done Disney a few times and much preferred their parks to universal. If you are a Harry potter fan I'd say it would be worth going.....none of us are so it was a LONG wait to even get into the Harry potter world....then more queuing for the rides! I'd say universal is better for older kids/teens?

I grew up in northeast Ohio. We went to Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, Sea World, and Conneaut Lake Park every year. All three of the last are gone now. We had Idora Park in Youngstown, but were told that it was too "inner city" for us and full of undesirables. But it had two classic coasters which I always wanted to ride. So when I was a young adult, I went with friends and got to ride before the place caught fire and closed.

Oh I am so jealous! I've always wanted to go to Universal! Especially since they opened the Harry Potter area. My son would love to do that! But, I hear it is extremely expensive.

EVERYTHING here is expensive. I haven't been to Universal since they opened...not as a guest anyway. I do go there quite a bit as a vendor.

As you know I worked at Disney for just under ten years. I believe that the Disney parks are more all-ages, family friendly than Universal, but Universal is likely to offer more thrill rides. All I think of when I think of our tourist area is, "get in line..."

I hear that a lot, too! A lot of waiting. I've always liked the smaller type amusement parks. The people are very friendly and it's quicker to get through the que. Next month, I'm taking my son to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There is a small amusement park right on the beach called Family Kingdom. I think it will be great riding when it opens and then going to the beach after. I don't think it will be warm enough to swim yet, but I just love the feel of the sand on my bare feet!
