I suppose I could start with the potato jokes, but that would be a low blow. :D

It would be as the potato pickers were from southern Ireland ..... Different country! but we don't want a political debate starting now do we ?

Hello sweet stuff, damn tootin its quiet......lovely.

I have no idea how the 'h' got dropped in the US for herbs. Perhaps some missaprehension that it was a French word.

'erbs are what you season food with....

And how do you pronounce "aluminum?"

On a point of pedantry it was aluminum before it was aluminium, it's just that the Americans haven't caught up. I always believed it was changed to make it easier for the French to say, but I don't think that is strictly true.
