I have a light tan, and yes it was too hot! Irish folk are meant to look pale....not brown and leathery ....unless of course we are going to a fancy dress as a crocodile handbag .....but thats just getting silly.....too much sun!! 
Anyway thanks to all for keeping the thread alive in my absence.....oh and you too MW for err managing to keep up with the conversation I know you lose it sometimes....

Ive been trying to work on my tan here in the south.....its like a state mandate to tan in the summer, but the weather isnt cooperating....

hmmm.....yes.....
BUT.....I love the way my skin looks....brown in some places and I really like the tan lines.

Yeah...I know all about it. I tanned real well when I was a kid, never burned. Now, going to the beach is an ordeal.

Hmmm...think I must have my dad's skin type...its a bit on the olive side......So I might get a bit red...but it turns nice and brown.
I LOVE the beach.....we are going in about 10 days.......

Being of Mediterranean descent, I always tanned easy.
I do enjoy the beach once I'm there. I just burn easy anymore.
