🇺🇸✔️ Election Results: Trump vs. Harris - As They Happen ✔️🇺🇸

AP has reports that young people, blacks, and Hispanics all are not supporting Harris at quite the level they did Biden four years ago. I have no idea if that is accurate or not, but if it is that is terrible news for Harris and even worse news about all of those groups that they would be that stupid.

Democrats have taken those voting blocks for granted my whole lifetime. I’ve long heard that immigrants tend to be dependent on Gov for a couple of generations but as they become more upwardly mobile and educated, they will become more conservative, or vote that way at least.

This may be a reflection of that.

I didn’t see that Ohio Senate result coming. Did you?

They elected a black man.

Seems to be they have an issue with women mostly.

Durring a huge recession and right as we were waking up to Iraq. I honestly believe that we could have ran a woman of Pakistani decent in an arranged marriage and STILL won THAT race. Though you aren't wrong. Being female is a huge problem.

You're not wrong that Dems have taken those groups in one way or another for granted for decades but there are two problems for a thinking person. First remember when Obama said "If I had a son he might look like Trayvon" That tiny bit of empathy was reported for weeks as tearing the country apart. Can you imagine if the Dems even spoke of doing something aimed legislatively at helping blacks? That shit would never end. The second is if you look at the actions of the Right vs the Left do you want the people who actively seek to harm you or the people who just ignore you? Cus those are the choices here. Sucks but there it is.

I’d argue the Trayvon case was already overheated, at least I think it was, when he said that. Not only had NBC misrepresented him in photo’s and age, but also the misreporting of what transpired. Not making a judgement call on that but adding perspective. I’d argue, by electing a black president, we went a long way to building bridges.

Not taking anything away from the way you feel. Just something to think about.

On the whole, it is very apparent that Americans do not trust and do not like women.
🙄

I guess all those women I see tonight winning Senate and House seats aren’t trusted? Good grief girl.

How about maybe running a better candidate? Hillary muscled Biden out of the way because it was “her turn.” If you truly believe Biden was the stellar candidate he was in ‘20, then why didn’t you run him in ‘16? He’d of won, and you’d have 8yrs of Biden (assuming he didn’t get caught with his hand in the Chinese till) and now Kamala or better yet a Tulsi could be running and have a full campaign season.

You have nobody to blame but your party for the mess you might find yourself in. Assuming Harris doesn’t pull a rabbit out of the hat tonight.

It's truly terrifying. The whole roe VS wade debacle was the first sign of rampant misogyny in your country. Our popular electoral choice is a misogynistic pos too. Historically society swings from wild abandon to prudish attitudes. Looks like chastity belts will be new thong in the US.

Nope. Eight years ago I totally agreed - it wasn't just that the country was too sexiest to elect a woman - it was that Clinton had too many problems to be a good option. Bill brought name recognition but a host of issues and while she was good enough, she really was not much for elected experience or political accomplishments.

Not true with Harris. She's been VP, senator, AG. She's won elections and gotten the job done once there. And she's running against a proven failure and nightmare of a human being and elected official. If she doesn't win, it's an absolute condemnation on this country as sexist and stupid.

I openly advocate for all women everywhere to live in rebellion and to be uncooperative.

I don't care if you didn't like Clinton or Biden or harris, but if you voted for grab em by the pussy even once you should never be allowed within a hundred feet of a female the rest of your life.

Its always going to be overheated. I honestly wonder how long we're going to have wait for genuine fuck some shit up riots. Not the isolated incidents we saw with BLM. I'm talking day after day after day. I have a super hard time believing that anybody on the right gives a single shit if I get killed or brutalized. Sometimes they happen so close together that I think we're talking about this guy but it was someone three states over.

Sure Trump gave some money to historically black colleges. The man tweets about EVERYTHING and nobody really knew about this until far after the facts. I know people like to say facts don't care about your fee fees but history has shown that to be untrue. Your fee fees don't care about the facts. So if you started I don't know funding HBCs or giving out more scholarships specifically to people or color or intentionally building some kinds of well paying jobs in black neighborhoods and you don't TELL anybody it didn't happen. I don't have any reason to believe that "oh I thought you were a president for ALL Americans" wouldn't be 24/7 on everything.

What gets me is his best friends are Xi and Putin but Republicans hate anything that stinks of "socialism" or "communism". That's some fucked up bullshit right there.

If they end up with full control of government, then they have to govern.

Get ready for slash and burn policies and the crashing of the economy - and social unrest in opposition to the draconian policies and economic austerity.

And then, in four years, the Democrats will have to come in and clean up the mess - again - only to receive zero credit and face defeat in another four years due to petty partisanship, racism, and misogyny.

At least there will be a lot of desperate Americans willing to join the military and work for slave wages in dead end jobs.

And of course, there will be a lot of desperate young women who will be at the mercy of patriarchal exploitation.

America.
