There was internet in the 1930's?

Yep. They used two nets, one inside the other, to separate the bigger catches from the small fry in the outer net, often for catfishing. So yeah, there were 'internets.' Some folks used chicken wire to make traps and baited them with chicken to lure catfish inside. Those folks caught more fish but weren't interested in the Internet. That was the basis for the 'two-sides debates' threads in those days. Later came the 'what-about-isms.'

I'd give more examples of the vocabulary from those days, but I doubt many here would be interested. Today, they want to bash each other over politics rather than brag about catchin' 150 lb. catfish down off the dam spillways. Somethings change but the cussin' and fussin' remains about the same as in the 1930's.

I want Trumpy to just start rambling making less sense than he made a couple of days ago when had what I would call a bout of explosive word salad diarrhea:

We’re going to be taking in trillions of dollars. And as much as child care is talked about as being expensive, it’s, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we’ll be taking in.

We’re going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people, and then we’ll worry about the rest of the world. Let’s help other people, but we’re going to take care of our country first. This is about America first, it’s about Make America Great Again. We have to do it because right now we’re a failing nation. So we’ll take care of it. Thank you. Very good question.

As I said up above, I think Harris needs to—and will—go for the throat. Talk over Trump, get him flustered and confused. Humiliate him and make him look weak and stupid. He has such a thin skin and is so easy to bait, there’s a good chance Harris can prod him into storming off the stage in a blind rage.
