Day 17: A song from your pre-teen years

I believe the sun should never set upon an argument
were words me and my bestie lived by back then. Bickering 12 year old girls - is there anything worse? Lots of tearful apologies over evening phone calls back in those days...

Savage Garden - Affirmation

Day 18: A song from the year you were born

Johnny Kidd & the Pirates; Shakin' all over

this is one of those songs that i knew from very early on... it must have been played a lot in the house when i was growing up, I heard it many years later and realised i knew it SO well. Funny how songs seep in, like osmosis, without you ever recalling hearing them

I'm sitting this one out.. nothing good came from the year i was born

Day 18: A song from the year you were born

While the whole band isn't queer, the lead singer is gay. And the song was co-written by him, Rob Halford, so I'm claiming it for my own personal challenge of only posting songs by queer / trans artists this month.

I could have gone with more conventional choices here like Queen, or Elton John, but I haven't posted anything metal in so long lol

Judas Priest - Cheater

I don't like this prompt, just because it has my spidey-senses tingling. Like it might as well be asking for a song with my mother's maiden name in the title, or a song with the last 4 digits of my social security. But here's a song from within X number of years of when I was born.
"The Logical Song" - Supertramp

Breakfast in America is such a good album. Love it.

A friend of mine just met Rob in person! He's been a fan since we were kids and finally had the chance. It was such a lovely moment, and lovely photo!

I can't imagine what metal would be like without Rob. He brought leather and studs into the metal world from the gay scene in Soho, and single-handedly created an entire fashion scene. The man's a living legend. Saw them live maybe 15 years ago or so, incredible to see him still riding onto the stage on his Harley😹

I sadly never saw them live and have always wanted to. They will be around here in September, I should look at getting tickets!

A friend of mine is like your friend, where they have been a fan forever and have met him. This friend of mine sings Judas Priest songs at karaoke lol

And Rob is incredibly nice, at least he was to the stage crew. Walked around to introduce himself and thank everyone when we were setting up. The whole band was sincerely polite to people they didn't need to have to be to, and that is just quality humaning.

Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits

I was tempted to post a different song just so I could use this gif, but I like Dire Straits (and Mark Knopfler) a lot more.
