Day 21. A song you like with a person's name in the title

I'm going deep today.
This song captures so well something I've always had a hard time articulating. I was institutionalized in my early twenties in no small part because of auditory hallucinations and psychosis. My brain was short circuiting and I was hearing voices I shouldn't have been. It was a dark time in my life and although I'm definitely towards the hope end of the spectrum these days, there are still times where it's hard to trust my thoughts. My head injury last year caused fractures that brought a lot of that stuff back up and it's been hard moving through the fear and confusion.

Hearing this song for the first time affected me in a way that only art can. Ren captures so eloquently the human experience and by wrapping these experiences in language he's helping us all understand each other a little better. He's also helping us heal.

It's art brute

Hi Ren - Ren
I absolutely love Ren and how he weaves stories into his songs, sometimes over multiple songs.

Thank you for sharing your story along with the song and trusting us with it. I can fully understand how this song can touch someone and evoke a reaction ❤️

Day 21. A song you like with a person's name in the title

The Dead wrote about MANY women but this one is one of my fav's

I'm going deep today.
Thank you for sharing this:heart: I dated someone for a while with schizophrenia and audio-visual hallucinations... Even tho I spent so much time with her I was unable to truly empathize for it was so completely foreign and strange to me, back then.
How to protect someone from an army of hecklers that only she can see, but to her were as real as me? Teen me couldn't, at least.

That song was absolutely incredible. Got lost for a little bit. Rewound for some of the cleverest lines. Astounding.

Day 21: A song you like with a person's name in the title
If I had any talent at all for singing, dancing, and acting, I'd love to perform in musicals. Noel Gruber in "Ride the Cyclone" is one of those roles I'd LOVE to take a stab at.
"Noel's Lament" - Ride the Cyclone

Day 21: A song you like with a person's name in the title

I was watching the X-Games the other day, women's vert skateboarding is making a comeback after a decade and a half on the shelf, and the level of those girls is just insane. Reese Nelson is just 10 years old and nabbed a silver medal! Doing impossible aerials and inventing her own tricks! Absolutely mental.

Anyway, I digress; one of the things the judges score runs on is pushing and progressing the sport. This is something I believe is important in all aspects of self-expression, whether it's music or sports or art; build on what's come before and create something new. Take what you've been shown is possible and elevate it.

Smash hip hop, funk, jazz, soul, and electronica together and what do you get? Acid Jazz. Buttery smooth music that flows through your veins and beats in rhythm with your heart.

God I fucking love Jamiroquai and their innovation!! 😫

- Tallulah

OK got some catching up to do, will break it up

Day 16: A song that's fun to scream along to (Note: NOT just "sing a little loud." I mean scream. The singer doesn't have to be screaming, but you do)

Angels - Am I ever gonna see your face again You can hear the crowd screaming the response as we do - this one is 30 odd years after it was first released

I love that song. I loved the album version, and I love the live version. The Angels (which in the US recorded as Angel City for legal reasons) were my first concert back in 1982. That was before that chant had come into existence, which is too bad. The Paramount Theater rocking "No way! Get Fucked! Fuck off!" would have been epic...

Day 21: A song you like with a person's name in the title

The mad hatter he waits for Alice
To come to tea again
He waits forever for his old lover
And always wonderin'
Will I see stars falling all around your head,
When you return?
Sherry Fraser what have you learned?

Marcy Playground - Sherry Fraser

An Alice in Wonderland reference you say 👀

The post breakup creeping of socials showing you things you may not want to see. We're a whole mess.

FLETCHER - Becky's So Hot

I'm so grateful my ex rarely posts to social media. That stalking spiral is too real 😭🤣
