🎵 Monthly Song Challenge 🎵

Greetings.

I love the daily music challenge and I'm a big believer in posting one song in response to answering that day's challenge.

That said, please allow me to post a 2nd song just for today. It's a fun summer song and while posting it, I can wish a Happy Birthday to one of my musical heroes, Brian Wilson, born on this day 82 years ago. Absolute legend.

While I appreciate the sentiment, and it is a lovely thought, there is only one rule. And the Princess has allowed us to enforce it while she is...doing Princess shit. Important Princess shit.

✨One. Song. Per. Day.✨
This is pretty much the only rule, so I’ll ask that you please follow it, or risk public ridicule.

Not angry as much as disappointed. This will hurt me more than it will hurt you.

No, strike that. Reverse it.

Happy birthday, Brian! One of my heroes, too.

I love that song. I loved the album version, and I love the live version. The Angels (which in the US recorded as Angel City for legal reasons) were my first concert back in 1982. That was before that chant had come into existence, which is too bad. The Paramount Theater rocking "No way! Get Fucked! Fuck off!" would have been epic...
haha, i think they might have got a bit of a shock the first time it was screamed out

Day 21 a song with a persons name in it.

The year I first heard this song on the radio I just happened to have a giant crush on Alison who sat in front of me in French class. I listened to this song far, far, far, more than was healthy that year 🤣

This is one of my favorite Elvis songs. Just well written, and his tone is perfect for it.

Day 7: A song that makes you feel energized.
Rocket from the Crypt - On a rope one of the best live shows out there

Day 8: A song you like that's used in a movie
Link Wray - Rumble - you know the movie saw this dude late 90s with about 40 people in the pub, fantastic

DAY 9: A song that makes you want to have sex
Young MC Bust a move

Day 10: A song you like that tells a story
The story is don't do it
Ferrets - Don't fall in love

Day 11: A Song That Makes You Cry
Hearing my son play this song gets me,but there is an extra sting today
Led Zeppelin - Since I've been loving you

Day 22: The song you'd play at your wedding

I've loved this song for... ages. It's in Swedish, but, a rough translation;

You are my music, and Ziggy, he understood
that I, I who've always been mute, I needed the words
that I, I who've always hesitated, I needed the courage
to realize
that you want to be with me

It's a miracle, a miracle that you even see me

Kent - Hur jag fick dig att älska mig
(How did I get you to love me)

Luv this! Great song selection...
And thank you so much for the translation!

Day 22: The song you'd play at your wedding

An Easy One - Hem
It's not going to happen... but, for some reason Hem popped in my head, the gentle waltzing movement of their songs, lost in time. Then the words of this and i now remember why i struggle to listen to them at times, this came at a time of upheaval and wanting this song to be for someone... Wanting for them to believe me, wanting to believe them.
Maybe it can be one day. Maybe Tomorrow Morning

22: The song you'd play at your wedding

Oh, it's fine when you're romancing
And he plays the lover's part
You're the roses in his garden
You're the flame that warms his heart
And his love will last forever
And he'll promise you the moon
But just wait until you're wedded
Then he'll sing a different tune

Couldn't resist it, it's the romantic in me 🥰
Dubliners: Don't Get Married Girls, (Men are all the same)

Day 22: A song you would play at your wedding.

I was going to skip this one. I've done the wedding once, and that was enough. And I'm not of a mind for this. But I remember working a wedding where the bride walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of this song. I asked and the bride hadn't listened to it much but thought it was "pretty." Which it is, no question. I sometimes wonder what happened to them.

There is a version where the added Christina Aguilera to the chorus. It is pretty, but not only unnecessary, it undercuts the song. This isn't two voices trying to find meaning together, it is a solitary voice screaming in a whisper.

"Say Something," A Great Big World
