But I refuse to believe I have to be the same person I was born when I die
'Cause change is alright
Change is alright
I'm not proud of all the choices I've made for a lot of my life
Following the shadow when I damn well know that behind me is the light
But I've lied to my mother, I made people feel like hell
But I refuse to believe I have to keep being cruel 'cause I'm a coward myself
Listen to his energy, his passion up to this point, then listen to the last two lines. And I've tried having faith, but I'll rot like a dove
'Cause I've always been scared of loving someone just a little bit more than I'm loved
That is the sound of a man shutting down.Losing is fine
Everything is fine
I am not a Foo Fighter's fan. I am not sure why. I should love them. I want to love them. Dave Grohl is one of the coolest humans on earth, and one of my big regrets is that he joined Nirvana after they left Portland, so I never got to see him play, much less meet him. But for some reason, Foo Fighter songs just .... I am not sure. Creep me out? Something like it. It is like an allergic reaction. There is no faster way to have me change the station on my car radio than to have a Foo Fighters song come on. And it pisses me off that I don't know why.Day 12: A song about change
We'll dream about somewhere
Our smoke will fill the air
As I lay awake and wait
For you to walk out that door
I can change, I can change, I can change
But who do you want me to be?
I'm the same, I'm the same, I'm the same
Oh, do you want me to be?
Stranger Things Have Happened - Foo Fighters
Well playedDay 12: A song about change
Change by Blind Melon (one of my most favourite songs EVER)
When life is hard,
You have to change
You should listen to this whole album: Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. Quite a few more intimate numbers on that album. Grohl has seen his fair share of shit. I'm a bigger fan of Foo than Nirvana...I am not a Foo Fighter's fan. I am not sure why. I should love them. I want to love them. But this song? I like this one. A lot. I love the two acoustic guitar lines. I love the metronome. I love his voice here, and the lyrics are intensely personal. Because I can't stand them, I have never heard it before now. Thank you for this.
Actually same. I saw the Foos the other week and I loved them even from way up in the nosebleed seats. You should listen to this whole album: Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. Haven't heard this for ages!Day 12: A song about change
The Lightning Seeds - Change
Actually a song about not changing just because people expect you to. To me, the melody does more than the lyrics though. The Lightning Seeds just a talent for crafting perfect earworms.
I saw them in 2018. It was a dream.Actually same. I saw the Foos the other week and I loved them even from way up in the nosebleed seats.
Nirvana were very special of course but the Foos have always been favourites of mine
Yeah, like the heirs of George Michael and a certain (unbearable) Christmas song.Haven't heard this for ages!
And yeah Broudie can write a catchy tune. He'll be living off a certain football songs royalties (not naming due to the one rule) for ever
Of course!! The anxiety in posting this was palpable because I wanted to post it and was afraid someone would beat me to the punch. LolAnd it was probably the first song to think of for this prompt, hm?
I saw them in 2000 when they opened for the RHCPI saw them in 2018. It was a dream.
Why are you like this?Day 12 - Song about change
I give you this Lady Gaga remix/dance jam/ ear worm
I’ll say both you are welcome and I’m sorry
I enjoyed working Nirvana shows, and Kurt was incredibly shy and nice with the crew (though he screamed at the band), but I was never a huge fan. Honestly, I never thought they would take off. (Mother Love Bone should have been the "face of Grunge," but that was not to be.) I was more into The Dharma Bums, Screaming Trees, Heatmeiser and a few others in the Grunge era.You should listen to this whole album: Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. Quite a few more intimate numbers on that album. Grohl has seen his fair share of shit. I'm a bigger fan of Foo than Nirvana...
