Day 4: A song that is a B side

The other members of the band didn't want "Beth" on their album 'Destroyer' so they buried it on second side of their 3rd single of the summer.
I've always loved this song.

Day 4: A song that is unreleased or B-side

I'm sorry... what is this "B-side" term referring to? Do we turn our phones over and it plays a different song?

*sigh* Let me try to figure out (being a young woman) what this could possibly mean...

Sarah McLachlan came out with an album titled: Rarities, B-Sides & Other Stuff... I love this cover (Joni Mitchell) from it. Hope that counts. 🤷‍♀️

My 9th grade French Teacher once asked if we could “turn over” the VHS of some French Lesson she was making us watch. Hmm not sure why I thought of that.

Day 4: A song that is unreleased or B-side
A hidden track on Jagged Little Pill (arguably my favorite album of all time) and what installed my love of slightly unhinged women with broken hearts.

"Your House" - Alanis

So forgive me, love
If I cry in your shower
So forgive me, love
For the salt in your bed

Her voice is magical, it always takes me back and that is a great cover

Brilliant cover used as the B-Side to a single many years ago!

Day 4: A song that is unreleased or B-side
If there were still dictionaries, beside the entry for "B-Side" would be a picture of Prince. For most artists, a b-side is a lesser song, a throwaway. Nothing was a throwaway to Prince. According to the man himself, this little ditty was inspired by a Parliament-Funkadelic concert he had attended. It was the b-side to the 1984 single "Let's Go Crazy," though over the years it was rerecorded, remixed, and reissued multiple times. Prince shares vocals with Sheila E. in her first recording with him. Sheila claimed for years they were saying funk, but she that matches neither the song nor the original, handwritten lyrics that were sold for almost $45,000 at auction.

"Erotic City, can't you see?
Fuck so pretty, you and me"

It is epic, sexy, and nearly perfect synth-funk.

"Erotic City," Prince

If I didn’t Prince so much here, I’d absolutely have done this one

Well, I did a whole voca podcast on here for "Silver Springs," so you know my love for that song too. I had about three Pince B-sides in mind if someone chose it first as well.

Day 2: A song that has many meanings

Playing catchup again. I grew up in an area where and during a time when Springsteen was worshipped. I couldn't help but acknowledge his writing but the over the top love turned me off to him a bit. I moved away from home and hearing about "The Boss" constantly any time music was the topic faded.

When I first heard this song, I didn't recognize right away that it was him and this song helped me appreciate what my stubborn rebel youth would not.

At first listen, it's a love song about physical attraction but the meaning is much more. It's also about emotional unavailability and the secrets even the closest of couples keep from one another.

Bruce Springsteen - Secret Gatden

Such an underrated song. My favorite of his later works.

Day 3: A song that is an album title track

I love this whole album.... well.. there's one song I really don't like... but everything else? Awesome.

Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
When I saw this prompt, this is immediately where my brain went. It's a fantastic double album without a single bad track. I wore this vinyl out in my youth.
