Really needs a proper scanner... Some have the attachments, but you need to take the reflective bit off as the light gas to go through...does that make sense?

I had looked into scanning some
8mm film years ago to digitize my parents silent film collection from my childhood . I haven’t gotten the motivation and time yet . Was halfway hoping technology would get better as well

you can do it with a mobile... get a special device (basically a light box) and the same with a DSLR. for 8mm film, i assume it's cine, you'd probably have to get that done at a specialist - then again, it's not my thing.

Lots of places offer to digitise film, it's just i am taking them and developing them too
