2004 Scoreboard

Well here it is last day of the year.

Looks like I have scored a solid fourth.

Can't complain I haven't really done anything since June.

R.Richard I haven't really run your score but it looks to me like your going to beat me.

Good job Partner. I didn't think you had it in you.

Be well and have fun -- Jo

Joseki Ko:
I have done a lot of work and learned a great deal over the past year. I don't know where I will finish, but I have just posted my last story for this year.

Hell, I initially thought that 200 points would win it this year, based upon the winning totals from 2003!

Good luck to all who tried!

Prior to finalizing my scorecard...

I would like to confirm the ruling on story word counts. I received the ruling via PM, but wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the ruling.

I had a number of short audio stories, shorter than 750 words that I considered submitting for the constest so I asked:

The Audio with Text submissions bypass the automatic word count rejection letting stories shorter than 750 words get posted on lit. Can a story of less than 750 words be used as a Survivor Contest entry?

I received the ruling

Unfortunately I will not be allowed to say yes to your request. The formal literotica submission guidelines state that stories will be 750 words or more. I cannot in good conscious allow submissions under that lenght to count for points in the survivor contest.

I have excluded my audio with text submissions with less than 750 words from my contest scoring. Is this correct?

Thank you,

jim : )

As per my reply to your question when you asked it the first time in PM......

No audio stories under 750 will count for the survivor contest. Literotica's formal submission guidelines state that stories must be 750 words to be eligible to post, however due to 'circumstances' audio stories are not held to this as strictly. That being said I cannot however allow AUDIO stories shorter then 750 words to count as I do not feel that it is fair handed to all members of the contest to allow that one category leeway when others do not have it as well.

Always, E

Thank you...

I just wanted to be sure everyone had the benefit of the ruling prior to finalizing their scores.

Another rules question...

In the Audio with Text category, shouldn't the submitted text match the recorded version of the story?

Shouldn't both adhere to your ruling that text with audio stories must be 750 words ?

Just wondering about your ruling.

Ok jim I'm confused here. Exactly what is the point of this post and what are you trying to accomplish?

Obviously your score is head and shoulders above the rest of us. So why it bothers you is beyond me unless your trying to axe somebody which is what it sounds like.

Lighten up. (grins) I came in 4th which is much better than I deserved.

And I'm cool with actually letting the moderator due her job.

I'm sure counting up your scorecard alone will take days. And she has just put up the rules for the 2005 contest. So I'm sure she is swamped.

In this vein I wonder what it is you wish you accomplish.

Win with dignity jim

I am interested in a fair result, regardless of how it affects me. I think you should be interested in the same thing. I am working on finalizing my score, as are the other contestants. This ruling could affect scoring. If I win this thing, I would like to know all other contestants were treated fairly. Again, this ruling will help accomplish that.

The results have not been announced. I tried to help you with your confusion and answered your question in my earlier response.

Well, my problem is ... I don't have a program that will allow me to record more than 60 seconds.

Now what???

They have a means to call it in and record it over the phone.

Or if you are using windows recorder, you stop recording at about the 58 second or so mark. Then when you start again it picks up at 58 with an additional 60 seconds recording. When you get close to the end ... stop, then restart with more time.

That way you can record very long stories, only limited by how big a file your computer can handle. It is a lot of work.

When did you edit your text on the story?

Oh, I forgot about that. I guess that's what I'll have to do.

And I did it a little while ago.

The final results have been handed in to Laurel.

Have a great tuesday everyone.

The scores were certainly much higher this year than last and I'm not going to say any more about that.

Last year I finished fourth, which was out of the money, and I believe Jessy 19 finished fifth. This year we were eighth and ninth respectively and we were the only two who finished within sight of the top in both years.
