2007 Survivor Literotica: Planning & Plotting

A story like that would not be eligible for points, unless the change is so radical that it turns the story into something else altogether.

That is what I thought too. I believe it may have been done this year, but I haven't read all the stories. I wouldn't have even thought of such a thing, until I read it in a How To story that was submitted and approved. I don't know if the author did it or not, but it was a suggestion on how to increase your points.

Well, if that was done and you see it, please report it back to me, because it is against the rules and any stories produced like that will not count for points.

I don't like coming across as a vindictive person, but I also know this contests is fun and challangeing and that is the appeal. I'll PM you and we can discuss it there. You mods do a fantastic job and I admire all the hard work you have done with this contest.

I actually have two stories something like that, except I wrote them simultaneously and posted them on consecutive days. In one, "Fingers by the Pool", a woman is sun-bathing by her swimming pool and she starts masturbating. This is in the TM category. In the other, a young man is watching her, and he masturbates also. This is named "Peeping by the Pool" and is in the EV category.

I think that explains what I was wondering. That puts it in a better perspective for me. It would be two different views at that point and yet an entirely different story. Thank you, very much. :)

Yeah, that's not exactly what I was referring to. Taking a fresh look at the same events, from a different perspective, can be a brand new story.

What I was talking about was more like changing all the Is to shes and all the verbal tenses from present to past and call it a new story. That wouldn't fly. ;)

I talked to Laurel, and she agrees completely with the setting of a minimum word count for the Novels and Novellas category, so that's settled. :)

I am curious about the dates. Supposedly, the current contest runs until Jan. 4 and the new contest starts Jan. 2. Why does the 2006 contest run so late into 2007 and why the overlap?

The contest doesn't really run until the 4th. The last submissions that count are on the 1st. Participants just have until the 4th to finish updating their scorecards. The contest itself actually ends on the 1st with 2007's edition beginning on the 2nd.

Yeah, what she said. It's the same as every year. Submissions posted on January 1st count for 2006, submissions posted on Jannuary 2nd count for 2007.

2006 participants have until the 4th to update their scorecards, that's all. :)

Sorry if I'm stepping on your toes, Lauren. I just have this irresistable urge to answer questions when I know what the answer is.

That's not stepping on anyone's toes, it's helping! Keep doing it. ;)
