39F Librarian Type Looking for Gentleman in Her Niche

Absolutely. You do it with a partner, in my case women, and there is nothing more fun than throwing a woman around on the dance floor. There really was a t shirt to the effect in the late 70s.
I really can't dance. Experience shows that I can't ski either. I have t-shirts older than some people who can drink legally in a tavern, but I don't have that one.

Oh you have not offended. I think most people have very specific misconceptions about librarians and people who work in libraries. It'd be awesome if we were all as cool and interesting as Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and that we were constantly saving the world in fun ways. I mean, us library folk are saving the world, but it's not as interesting as in a supernaturally-themed show.

I recently got my M.A. in technical writing. I am slowly trying to ease myself into a writing-adjacent career.
Congratulations on the Masters. Before our divorce, I helped my ex get her M.S. and Doctorate, one after the other, so I understand what an accomplishment that is.

I don't have a degree in it, but I have done a lot of tech writing over the years. In fact, my last IT contract was a large tech writing project, translating engineering docs and notes into useable build documents. Not sexy, but a nice challenge.

It's funny that you return here to make this remark. Do you not have anything better to do with your time than to jump into people's threads and "call out" things that are untrue in the first place. Perhaps if I were an Austen character who had been hit over the head with a blunt object, I'd be searching for matrimony here.

In saying that I don't want to be someone's extracurricular activity, I am not implying I want to marry them. I am frankly revolted by marriage, but please, do go on. I would be more than happy to report your posts.

Thanks. I did mine on my own, as I do everything. Thank you for sharing your story.

Sincerely, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to respond, and to those who didn't take the time, but responded anyway. I try to respond to everyone, whether I have interest or not. I appreciate thoughtful messages of people who pay attention, and respond to those best. But nonetheless, thank you, everyone, for your kindness.

Right, so I thought I'd refresh this attempt. I've not found the genre of person I'm seeking.

What are you reading now? I am reading Nick Cave's Faith, Hope and Carnage, Stephen Fry's The Fry Chronicles, and a trashy Victoria Holt novel I hope I can get through. Thank you for your time in reading this.

I’m not in your preferences, but I’m currently doing a reread of the Patrick O’Bian series that started with Master and Commander. Perhaps more impressed the second time around. Bonus points if you spot the pun there relative to the series.

Well, I feel like i want to take the time to see if i am lucky enough to earn a chat or two with you. To start I'm a 48 year old man, currently working as a chef and restaurant manager though my heart lies in writing. I've had one book published and working on book two but hard times have prevented that lately. It's too personal to share in public forum but if we ever do chat otherwise I'd be inclined to open up. I do enjoy a variety of things from books, poetry (i greatly enjoy quoting Poe) and movies. My tastes are really broad. My favorite hobby, totally unrelated, is board games. I literally own thousands of dollars worth and don't regret a single one.

I sincerely hope we could possibly correspond someday and see how it goes. Maybe we click, maybe not. You never know unless you leap. But it's been a long time since I've given this a shot so... here's hoping! Take care and i hope to hear more from you.

Board games are neat. I am still trying to work up the energy to try Final Girl again.

I hope whatever you are going through gets better. Everyone deserves to be if not happy, content. All the best from me.

And that made me smile so big to read... I have the entire Final Girl collection, as well as backed season 3 on Kickstarter and waiting for its release later this year! It's hard but fun, for sure.

And thank you for the good wishes, as well as a good morning to you. Hope things are starting off well for you.

That's neat. I do like that single player board games are now a thing. As someone who doesn't have anyone to play with anymore, it can be hard. I own a lot of board games too, but unfortunately most are in storage. During Covid, my sister and I invested in a lot of them to pass the time.

And yeah, Final Girl has a sort of learning curve where there are a lot of things going on at once. I tried it once, with my sister (we put our brains together to figure it out) and then kind of set it aside since. Which is sad, because it'd probably be good if I did hobby things. My friend who recommended it tells me all the funny scenarios that happen when she plays.

Trying to reach a baseline over here and dreading a day that is fuller than usual. Hope you're getting a good start, yourself.

Awww it's funny when you find parallels in other peoples lives. So my stuff is in storage too but it's been more recent. That being said, Final Girl is still here with me and i play it pretty often. Solo games are mostly my way to go for the same reasons as you. I just never seem to have anyone to play with when the mood strikes. I think so I'm missing is one set for season 2.

As for how my day is starting... well, anxiety and insomnia don't automatically mean bad, right? Heh, truthfully i have surgery tomorrow so it's on my mind, plus i have to work later. Not gonna lie though, starting the day with this chat is a huge plus so far.

I hope all goes well with you tomorrow. I have an appointment today. It is a make or break appointment. Not looking forward to it, but what can you do. All the best for you today.

It was a dark and stormy night...

Wait, that isn't right.

It is a truth universally acknowledged...

No, not that one, either.

There was no possibility of taking a walk...

Fine, fine.

Allow me to introduce myself, if I may. I am a sapiosexual bibliophile who also happens to be goth and work at a library (alas, no MLIS). I realize, by virtue of my gothness and my librarian-adjacentness, I already check two of your boxes. Sometimes this suits me better than others.

I am one of those bluestockings who has spent more time in the company of books than she ever has with a man. However, this is not my first dance in the ballroom that is Literotica. I've had the joy of one, very beautiful connection in my years here, a charming Englishman, whose memory I sometimes recall when I am in a sullen mood. I never want to force anything, but it would be lovely if I could eventually have something similar to the emotional, intellectual (and yes, intensely sexual) sort of relationship I had with him.

I am aware that we both have time constraints, and so I am not asking to take up all of your time, but I do intensely prefer the sort of connection where you have time for me. As a result, married men are out of the question. I assure you that I feel for your situations, but I do not feel comfortable helping you cheat on your spouse. Other preferences include the ability to eventually move conversation off of Lit. I have found, over the years, that voice can be a most humanizing medium, with more versatility than text, in a lot of ways. I will also share video if/when I am comfortable. My particular preferance is for gentlemen no more than 5 years my junior and 12ish years my senior. Other than these, I am open.

Though, there is one thing I must insist upon: intellect. My hobbies include graveyard strolls, gothic novels, and obsessively learning new information. If you can't keep up with my brain, it would be advisable to look somewhere else.

As a result, I can offer you my time. I currently have a fair amount of it, and keep odd schedules, so time zones would not be as great a barrier as with others. I can also offer you somewhat flexible sexual preferences. I had a foray into the BDSM scene a while ago and it wasn't for me. However, I find an intense, intimate, and private D/s dynamic can be lovely. I am a devoted submissive who lives for obedience and is happy to please. I am happy to try new things (within reason), and always pleased to introduce you as well. In addition, I am a good conversationalist, offer silly jokes, and love to discuss books for years. I would also love to be able to write you passionate poems, should you find that interesting.

If you are interested in a long term situation with a bright, clever woman, please do not hesitate to send me a message. If you in some way find this advert offensive, please scroll on by. I do not intend to offend, but I do believe it's better to not say anything if you can't say anything nice. Thank you, and best to you whether the advert applies or not!
Just possibly you might have found what you are looking - if not yearning - for....

If you would like to try, I'm here.....just pm me

You said that on the other thread but I see no indication that you do. I am not terribly scientifically minded, but I do like to have evidence off of which to base one's claims. In short, I am skeptical.

Well, it sounds like you have a busy day then. As i said, i was really enjoying the chat and would love to chat further whenever you have the free time. I don't have much to do myself for a few hours. So at least let me know if your appointment goes well? I'm hoping the best for you.

I understand ...yet I will keep my personal information that might have interested you -or at least have informed the demurral - out of the public forum. I'm sure you understand. Best wishes .
